Light and Heavy Infantry

In the modern age, as Owen indicated, and I believe Los alluded to, you can
recognize the light infantry. They are the guys who look like they are about
to disappear under a pack larger than they are. Light generally means you get
to carry your more of your kit because you have less transport resources and
are more self sufficient. It's another
example of military misnomers and oxymorons - Light Infantry, Military
Intelligence, Battle Plan, Friendly Fire, the list goes on and on <and
no this isn't an invite for one of our famous on-list one-upmanship
duels to see who can crank out the latest and greatest such
oxymoron..... *grin*>
