I got some of the new UFO LEGOs for my birthday(turned 26 hehehe) and was
thinking on how cool these alien guys and there ships would be in Stargrunt.
Then I got to thinking(should of known I was doomed here) that I have alot of
other LEGO stuff that would be kind of nifty to use in SG. Makes for really
cool APCs and other vehicles not to mention the static stuff you can make and
best of all if you blow it up you can scatter the pieces about and make it
look authentic. Now I just have to come up with stats for all the little
dudes.

Sidenote- While at Toys-R-Us I saw a new line of toys called
"Battle Zone". THey had 3 types of military vehicles; APC, Tank, and a plane.
The APC and tank looked to be in perfect scale for SG2. Going to pick some up
tomorrow(only $9 each) along with a toy box for my daughter.

It is late, I am groggy and that ESC key is sure looking mighty inviting. The
Big Red Candy like button!!!!

Ever heard of "Lego Wars"? Rules for wargaming using Lego... I've got the
rules kicking around, and if anyone's interested I'll email it to them. It's
about 40K though, so I won't post it here.

Vehicle stats etc are based on number of 'dots' on the base, and as well stats
and things for weapons and SpaceMen.

On CBC radio I heard that some engineers at MIT have developed a robotic LEGO
brick that you can program with a PC! Supposedly it will be available in a few
months! Animated terrain, Cool!

Ever heard of "Legowars"?

(For those who don't know...) It is a simple wargame that uses LEGO (tm) sets
and figures. Don't have the URL handy, Try searching for "Legowars".

Would this be the same Lego Wars that is on the internet?

BTW, There is a Lego-based wargame called "Plastic Men and Wooden Ships"
(I
think) also on the net. Uses the pirate sets.

Yep. Picked it up a long time ago, though I've never actually tried playing
it.

My version of 'LEGO wars' always used to involve a well aimed tennis ball and
some pretty strongly built fortifications:)

I saw this in New Scientist the other day. A bit surprising because I was
playing with much the same a few years ago when I did an AI robotics course at
Uni, so I don't see what's quite so new about it. Had IR sensors (basically
used as range finders) as well.

The aim of the course was to build a robot capable of playing 'football'. The
really fun bit was that fouling was actively encouraged, and you got points
for breaking apart other robots:)

Lego Wars doesn't officially exssit anymore. LEGo warned the guys who wrote it
not to use the trademarked LEGO name so the guys removed the site. However, if
anyone still has a copy I'd appreciate a copy of it.
