Thanks Johan (and others!). Most of the questions got answered. I too admit to
wondering too what a Civil Affairs BN was, but I'm suspecting airborne MP or
Psyops tie ins? Or maybe they are (since they come from the land of the free
and home of litigation) airborne legal experts? (I'm kidding!)

Still wondering what the SEALs had desert vehicles for.... (Frogmen in
Dunebuggies.... what's next? Parachutists on Skateboards?)

And as for the SSG doing a little bit of quiet
business, Canadian JTF-2 had some guys over
there (and probably in other places in the
Balkans) - I think the picture of the Canucks
taking the Taliban prisoners out of the plane are
JTF-2 guys, but if they are, the gov't won't
admit it.:)

I did, I admit, find myself wondering if any of the blacked out US Spec Ops
faces from the desert or the Philipines had a familiar shape.... there is a
lister who tends to disappear for long periods of time to places not named.
<You know who you are, if you've got time to read this. Your presence is
missed.>

Basically CA guys are the 'hearts and minds' side of the house, assisting
local authorities and civil communities in recovering from the damage
inflicted by armed conflict.

I was hoping we'd do this. Some constructon engineers would go a long
way to re-establishing the infrastructure that Afganistan hasn't seen
in years. Clean water, power, sewage, etc. Re-establishments of
something resembling modern hospitals would be ace as well.
