Just one question before I begin to write:
As there will be a lot of german expressions (like Jäger) in the TOE can all
who are intersted read the following german letters:
ä,Ã,ö,Ã,ü,Ã,à ?????
If not, I will use an alternative (less preferable) writing.
Tschüà (Tschuess)!!! Hauke
I can read 'em and pronounce 'em.

My high school German means that I recognize an umlaut when I see one (I think
thats how you spell it). I even know how to pronounce it. But the point is why
worry about it?. Use the German words if they are proper nouns or if no other
word can convey the same meaning.

Perhaps you could put the less preferable in parantheses?

Hi everyone!!!

On that I have a three-part-answer:
1.) I've done that in a translation of naval terms, that I've sent to Jon
(GZG).
Altough it worked there (just translations and nearly no text), I think that
it would make reading too uncomfortable with this much text.
2.) The original writing is in "Jägerkompanie (TOE)" and the less preferable
is in "Jaegerkompanie (TOE)".
and: 3.) Ooops,...I'm afraid that there was a bad formulation in my first
E-mail...
I actually wanted to know if the letters ("Umlaute") were displayed in the
right way on your system... So here are the "translations" (for those who want
to write it in the correct version, but don't know what to do with
"Umlaute"...sorry, but I didn't think
of that...):
ä [ae], à [Ae], ö [oe], à [Oe], ü [ue], à [Ue], à [ss]

No I can't read it, I get an equal sign and a two digit hex number!!!!!
instead of the german characters.
