I am after some new fighters for my space nazis (standard GZG NSL, painted
black, name in white on forward upper section, flag with red background on
forward upper part of engine section).
I am wondering if 1/300 scale WW2 fighters are the same size as the FT
fighters? Presumably someone on this list knows the answer to this one.
Please note: The concept for my fleet came from a series of very bad jokes
after someone else was forced to use some of his historical stuff for DS2
after his sci-fi stuff went and got lost. It is nothing to do with
anything in my mind.
...As FT fighters... No. FT starships are on the 1/2000th or 1/3000th
scale.
The fighters are exaggerated and are probably closer to 1/1000th scale
(guestimation). FT fighter model if placed beside a DS2 vehicle would appear
about the size of a large dog.
DS2 fighters should be in the same scale as WWII fighters. DS2 is usually in
the 1/300th or 1/285th scale ranges.

Actually you would probably do better using 1/700 plastic model
airplanes from Hasegawa or Skywave or etc. Pop into your local model shop and
look at the naval stuff.
I would suggest 1/2400 modern jets from GHQ. Goto www.ghqmodels.com and
look under "Modern Micronauts".

Personally, I'd go with the GHQ 1/700 scale metal figures. I buy the
"Modern" sets (made for Harpoon) and use those for FT fighters. At about $7.00
per package of 36 (?) aircraft, it's great! GHQ makes WW2 sets as well for
"stocking" aircraft carriers....
