Came home Sunday afternoon to find Beth had made me a very cool birthday cake,
it was in the shape of the 'Gauntlet' APC (even had the skirt made made up of
jelly). Only catch was that Beth had run out of icing sugar (frosting, for you
americans) so there was no camo, but who cares it was
excellent. The anti-armour section knocked it off no problem after the
tea that night.

Such brave brave lads.... do we give them a medal orput them on a diet?
A NAC Special Forces section would be more than happy to airdrop in
for some mop up work. :-)
Happy Birthday, Derek!

Are you besmirching my cooking?!

Bit late I think the ravenging horde had polished the lot off in under 3
minutes flat!

Thanks, I'll pass it along.

Dang, Beth, you've got to give us a *little* more warning than that! (Heck, a
little warning at all... not that I'd be able to get down there, but I will,
one of these years....)

Ditto! (See, not just a "me, too!" post. There's other stuff innit, really!)
Lord, NO!!!! I was commenting that taking on a yummy cake wasn't much of a
sacrifice for the Anti-armor team to make.
Brian B(oy I wish I could have some of that cake)

G'day guys,
No way! I play DS II, she plays FT. Do the math - any grudge match
would consist of her nuking my best divisions from orbit! My momma didn't
raise no dummy!

Bit of a fast talker aren't you?;)
> No way! I play DS II, she plays FT. Do the math - any grudge match
Actually I play FT/DS/SG, but I'll match your graciousness and let you
bow with dignity;)
Cheers
Beth
Thanks for letting me off the hook, Beth.
BTW, what flavor was the APC?

G'day Brian,
> Thanks for letting me off the hook, Beth.
It started as a vanilla buttercake, but I converted it into a red, ivory and
blue randow cake as that's the colours of Derek's cam pattern on his NSL. The
hover skirt was orange jelly (gelatin or whatever you guys call it, you know
the stuff that wobbles). The turret was a chopped choclate chip biscuit.
Didn't work out too bad in the end, would've been stuffed if he had grav
vehicles;)
Cheers

NSL colony? :-)
It's called Jello in the States.
G'day Jon,

Either (and my apologies in advance for any grammatical misdemeanours)
Neu Vorstellung <New Imagination> or Dort aus Versehen <There by mistake>
as they're grey-blue base-colour, with dark blue, maroon and ivory cam
squiggles, but they're based on orange (think Mars) sand, obviously the
Q-store hasn't caught up yet ;)
His Jagers are much more conservatively painted in khakis, light browns and
greens and are on normal grassy bases - though the red stripe down the
leg probably doesn't help concealment much;)
Cheers

Have you seen the very OOP Evil Empire's (tm) Book of the Astronomicon?
There's a camo scheme with Orange, Bright Blue, and a few other colors. Give
'em credit, some of the funkiest camo schemes I've ever seen. And, I
thought, very other-worldly.
While I've complained loudly about the common black with drybrushed gray space
ships 'round here, I must say no one ever attempted the 'well, they see in a
different spectrum than us', though.

Thanks for the consideration of our b**tardized form of the Queen's own, but
we usually use the trademarked Jello. Course, they're worried it'll
go the way of 'zipper'. ;->=
And, of course, we say cookie instead of biscuit. CC's, my favorite!

I could REALLY lay it on thick and say your baking was probably so light and
fluffy, it floated JUST LIKE an A-grav vehicle.
Besides, that's not nearly as indimidating as a combat walker... or even
worse, an O.G.R.E.

You could, but even I wouldn't believe you;)

Give me time... I've graduated from Elmo heads, to Teletubbies heads, to
farmyards, to dinosaurs, to Klingon battlecruisers (K'Tinga and Vorcha) to
Daleks to APCs and there's a lot more birthdays still to come for my
brood... ;)
<yeah OK the words plain and conventional don't feature highly in my
vocabulary>
Beth
And that's a bad thing because....??????
