I was wondering, how do you guys mount your infantry for Dirtside II? Number
per base? Size of base? etc. Thanks for any advice.

I use a 1"square wooden base with 4 men per base usually 3 front and one rear.
I cover the base with flock after painting it green. Just one suggestion.

I mount 4 per base on a 1" square base for normal infantry
(i.e., rifle teams). The rules say 4-5 man squads, but I'm
told (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that Stargrunt's equivalent
squad is 4 people, so this allows me to keep my options open for possible
future overlap. That is, to do company combat with Dirtside and skirmish with
Stargrunt in the same battle or campaign. I haven't mounted my AA missile
teams yet, and have yet to pick up other infantry teams, so I'm also
interested in the number per base, etc. that other people use.

I mount four per base, on a (roughly) 1.5" x 1" stand for Powered troopers
(Scotia Micromodels). My line/militia inf. is from Irregular, it comes
ready based, four troopers on a 1" x.5" base (very roughly).

The Irregular guys are in a line abreast type thing, one deep across the base.
The PA teams I've mounted in varied staggered formations, two
up/two
back, en echelon, etc.

Specialist teams I mount two per base - this includes APSWs, arty
observers, GMS/L teams, LAD teams, Inf. Mortar teams...again, the
Irregular minis come ready based, cast right into their base. The Scotia hvy.
wpns. teams are also ready based, most of them. The rest I've based
on (again, roughly) 3/4" x 3/4" bases.

Where do you guys acquire your sci fi minis infantry? The only ones I
have are GZG and their 1/300 infantry of which they only make one type.
I know that H&R makes some minis too and can aquire them on the web. Whatr
about irregular or scotia? Is there a catalog list anywhere are the web?

companies - Scotia has a broader range, but Irregs are nice (and very
cheap).

Neither company has a catalog or any agents on the web that I'm aware of. I
have new catalogs from both companies at home, however, and can post
addresses/product codes/prices tomorrow if you want...I'll post to the
list, you're probably not the only person who wants the info...

Actually, I use a combination of minis for mine (and some of the older gamers
will remember the first one) I use:

Ral Partha jump troops (from the Ogre game - now no longer offered) as
my veteran/elite infantry
Ral Partha "House Davian" infantry as my regulars (also with some jump troops
in them) and Scotia Micro Power Armor Troops (self explanatory)

Like you, I'm looking into some other lines as well.

Games Workshop (Yes, the evil GW) has replaced it's old 6mm Epic Space Marine
game with a new Epic 40K game (which IMHO is a great game, maybe, just maybe,
even better than DSII in some ways). And new figures.

Anyway, there are lots of copies of the old game, each with 120 Space Marine
and another 120 Eldar (and 120 Orks). Basic, but in large

Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK that is selling old copies of Space

Warhammer and Talisman, but they have no idea what may be coming next.

I mounted 3 figures on a penny and stated that it represents a squad.

Check out the rules. A basic fire team is 3 or 4 figures on a base. Typically
2 to a squad. An APSW team is 2 or 3 figures on a base. Other teams are
similar.
