Subject: [HIST] IAS introduction - Ship design
G'day again,
Here's the design of their ships. No hard numbers (i.e. fleet make up yet)
other than to say that dedicated warfleet
is SMALL - maybe one or two of the big ships each and just enough of the
smaller warships to make a sensible fleet structure. The vast majority of IAS
ships are either explorers or of the modular design. The modular merchantmen
can carry 3 modules (all modules are of 21 mass) and modules may be mixed and
matched. Thus a merchantman on an exploration mission may have 1 Cargo and 2
surveyor modules (etc) whereas during time of war it may be kitted out with
one warfighting and 2 beam or one warfighting a fighter and an SM module (or
something). Hopefully you get what I mean.
By the way Derek's working on a set of sensor and ECM (etc.) house-rules
