Jon,
welcome to the list!
It's excellent news that you're on and thanks for taking the time to join in.
As far as being too commercial, I just want to hear *everything* you're
working on, so please, tell all!
All the best,
Hi to everyone one the mailing list - having been lurking around for a
couple of weeks now, I thought it was about time I let everyone know I was
actually on-line at long last. I wanted to wait till the new copyright
and
intro message had been sorted out, and make sure no-one had any problems
with that side of things - it all seems OK, so I'm out of lurk mode at
last! I look forward to being able to take an active part in the list
discussions as and when time permits, as well as posting any bits of news
that might be of interest - I don't want to offend anyone by using the
list for what could be seen as advertising, so please let me know what sort of
info you would like and what would be acceptable practice.
Just for information, the following is a little about GZG:
Addresses: email: jon@gzero.dungeon.com Snailmail: Ground Zero Games, PO Box
337, Needham Market, Suffolk, IP6 8LN, UK.
Ground Zero Games has been running as a full-time business for just over
five years now, and was a part-time setup for a good few years before
that.
Up until late last year GZG was strictly a one-man business (ie: me, Jon
Tuffley), but in the last few months a good friend of mine, Dave Garnham, has
joined me to help out on the production side. Between the two of us we hope to
be able to get a bit more new product out this year, in both models and
publications. We are still, of course, a VERY small company and still very
much gamers at heart (though not as active on the gaming side as I'd
like to be - I always seem to be too busy writing the stuff to actually
play any of it...).
Mike Elliott, who some of you may know from this list, is not a GZG
employee - he is a good friend who has been of invaluable (and unpaid!)
help in rules development and in representing GZG on the net, voluntarily
giving his valuable time with the only recompense being some resin & metal
occasionally! I know that Mike is now unable to access this list as often as
he used to (due to a change of work location within his company), so perhaps I
can now answer directly some of the stuff that previously was directed to him
for referral to me.
Most of you will know that GeoHex are GZG's US licensee, producing most of our
ranges under license for sale in the USA, Canada and S.America. For the
Australian market, Eureka Miniatures in Victoria fulfils a similar role. With
the exception of the rulebooks (which are printed in the UK and shipped over),
all product that you buy in the USA has been made over there by GeoHex from
masters supplied by us.
The FULL THRUST ship line was originally sculpted by Paul Copeland of CM
Designs in the UK, in collaboration with us. In July last year, Paul sadly had
to retire from the miniatures business due to ill health, and GZG bought out
all the Full Thrust and Future Wars miniatures lines, so they are now all
officially GZG products. We are now starting to add to the FT ranges again,
with Dave Garnham having just sculpted some very nice
Sa'Vasku Bioships for me - don't worry, they'll be slithering their way
to GeoHex for US release very soon....
I've rambled on enough for this first posting - looking forward to the
mail with interest....
All the best to everyone,

Neat-oh, I won't have to wait for AOG to come out with Vorlon
Miniatures or search for Space Fleet minis.
Well, I gotta go. Let me just say that I, and just about anyone else here, is
looking forward to hearing from you. Welcome aboard.

Hi! Welcome to the list!

If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you:
What's really going on with More Thrust? Are you reprinting it, or are you
coming out with a revised edition of the rulebooks?
Are the GZG starship miniatures going to be re-designed? If so, which
ones and when?
Have you spoken with your American suppliers (I think SIMTAC is doing the
actual castings) about their quality control recently?
How much of the Full Thrust system will be in the Babylon 5 starship
miniatures game?
Are you going to release the anime figures you previewed last GenCon?
Is the "JT's Heavenly Bodies" line going to continue?
Thank you for writing an excellent set of games!
Its nice to have the inspiration for the list available for comment at last.
Might I ask a question of you?
Firstly do you think it might be a good idea to define what kind of questions
we could pose to you personally? I believe Mike Elliot said at one point that
you were wary of coming on this list in case
you were indunated with e-mails inquiring about orders and
so on. Are you willing to accept such questions (privately of course) or is
this area out of bounds?
Another question. With the AOG B5 Wars ships filling the gap (we hope) in B5
Figures what kind of plans do you have to expand the range of ships you supply
which might be regarded as having a "vague" resemblance to a certain TV show?
I'd be very interested as AOG don't seem to have a European Distributer yet.
So getting their figures on this side of the World might be a problem.
Anyway Jon, nice to have you onboard. Hope you enjoy it.

Can't confirm yet, but a reprint of MT looks likely at present. FTIII will
happen at sometime, but not until a lot of consultation has been done
regarding what (if anything) we change and what we leave alone.

Some may be reworked as and when we get round to them; mostly we'll
concentrate on adding more new stuff!

Think you'd really better speak to GeoHex directly about this one - I
can't really comment from this side of the pond.
> How much of the Full Thrust system will be in the Babylon 5 starship
Can't say too much till it is out, but I can say it will be a customised
and B5-specific version of FT, with some new ideas added.
> Are you going to release the anime figures you previewed last GenCon?
If you mean the Gun Bunnies, then they should either be out already over
there or else scheduled for imminent release - again, suggest you ask
GeoHex.
> Is the "JT's Heavenly Bodies" line going to continue?
YES!... think you'll like the next few:) BTW, over here we sell them as "The
Gentlemen's Collectables...
Just a general message to say a very big THANKS to all those who posted to
welcome me onto the list. It's good to be here at last!

Jon - it may have escaped you, but this is a mailing list dedicated to
GZG products... I may be out of line, but I suspect that the subscribers want
news and info on any new products the very second they roll off the
printers (IMHO) :-)
I always seem to be too busy writing the stuff to actually

What makes you think any of us actually have time to play.... ? :-)

Jolly Good! Glad to hear from you at last!
I am a lurker also, but alas I can't get a copy of your excellent game Full
Thrust...
The kind of info I (and others presumably...) are the projected schedules of
some of your products (the rules books, new mini's ect)
Welcome, Jon!
> I don't want to offend anyone by using the list
Hey, we're all here because we're fans of your games. I think any
announcements of new or soon-to-be-available products would be GREATLY
appreciated!
> Niall Gilsenan wrote:

If anyone has any queries regarding specific orders to GZG, please use direct
email rather than the list. Obviously we can't take orders by email anyway, as
we don't take credit cards. General enquiries about the range can be posted to
the list IF everyone else doesn't mind, or emailed direct. I'll answer when I
can, time permitting!
> Another question. With the AOG B5 Wars ships filling the gap (we
Possibly, but WB have big lawyers...:) Seriously, there may be some stuff that
is "inspired by" etc.,more news
when (if?) it happens. Don't know what the AOG stuff will be like - I've
read rumours of the big ships being VERY big, and the fighters being done
to a different (larger) scale; can anyone in the US confirm/deny? Are
they out yet over there?

We've only heard the same. And no, they're not out yet. <sigh>
