Okay, I have GZG SF figures on my paint list right now but this covers
historical and fantasy too... I want to know what works as 'blond' (not white,
not yellow, not country tan but 'blond') for you.

Usually I use a variety of brown (Red is worse then blond but that's another
thread...) but I have a few figures waiting to paint where the European nature
(and a lot of bare heads) suggests I might want a blond as a change from

Black, Chocolate Bar, Brown Oxide, Country Tan, Territorial Beige, Toffee and
Soft Suede (in decreasing usage) that I have been using for hair color.

Yes, I use mostly Apple Barrel paints.

They're inexpensive and I am cheap.

Gracias,

You might try a light brown, wash with a dark ruddy brown and high light with
a yellow in varying shades.

Sounds good but...

I am horrible with washes.

There is a reason I have so few armies in 25 mm.... <grin>

And my history with highlights is almost as bad.

Most of my figures are 6 mm except for the 15 mm SF I have/am getting to
correspond to my 25 mm SF forces.

Never tried washes for 6 or 15 mm figures because I am so bad at it with 25 mm
figures.

Heck, I can always paint over it if it fails...

Muchas Gracias,

I've used Honey Brown or Unbleached linen

Magic wash solution is your friend.

1 part Future acrylic floor polish 1 part isopropyl rubbing alcohol 2 parts
water

tint with your ink or paint

Apply

Makes washes quick and easy without the annoying bit where the pigment sticks
to the high spots.
