The star system travel distance guides for the GZG Future History. It includes
the NSL mining colony of Röt Hafen, and the Schoon NSL modifications to
Nyrath's star colonies list. All distances in parsecs.

Oooh! Ahh! (and to think I almost did all that work myself!)

The cross reference chart is large on the screen but only took a a few seconds
to load.

Does anyone (other than me) have any objections, or can we treat this as
canon? My objection is that the Alarishi stars are not marked, probably
because I never mentioned anything about them. I'll need to find three or four
otherwise unclaimed systems (no habitable planets required) and set up shop
there, and it should be close to the IF.

Ask Nyrath the nearly wise for some suitable stars, let me know the name,
distance, X, Y & Z coordinates of those stars and I will update it about a
week later, when my poor, antique 486 running Lotus Improv, finishes
recalculating the distance spreadsheet.

It's Jon's universe, so...

I won't accept it as 'canon' until each of the powers are named in a GZG
publication, but it's a lovely piece of work, obviously beloved by the list,
and will probably expand as more of us design our own 'principalities'.

A labour of love, a work (forever) in progress...

Sorry, I suppose it should be in every post referencing it. *blush*

However, let me take this opportunity to further clarify my previous comments.

For me, an ideal set of stars would have a disk of only 'official' areas,
therefore visible on a 'official' two dimensional map, while the new powers
could be off the plane of display. While this has been mentioned as a way that
battles could happen with powers that seem to be at opposite sides of the
known space, it would also allow small unofficial empires added.

I haven't tried doing the analysis necessary; my brain's already hurting
today.

Andrew spake thusly upon matters weighty:

Someone had the entire history from the GZG universe as HTML (whoever did the
Romanov stuff?). That gives all the 'official' material that has been
published to date. Will whomever has this posted to their website please step
forward?

Oh, the alarishi stars are all very very close to the Islamic Republic.

And Noam's stars are clustered around Epsilon Indi.

It was me & it can be found at

It is not, however, ALL the stuff GZG has written, just the entries from FT2 &
MT; I have been told there's more in SG2, but I don't have that. Colin M Nash

You have good stuff at your site! I'm cobbling together a site at
http://www.clark.net/pub/nyrath/ft/ftmapmain.html

Now, the colony list will be changing as people ask me for stars. What can I
do to make it easy for you to maintain your lists? Are you using a
spreadsheet? What format? How about importing comma delimeted files? Tell me
what you want.<

I think that my spreadsheet is substantially the same as the Double A team's
page, with the advantage that it's easy for me to add stars and recalculate
the distances. At the moment you can get there from
www.geocities.com/Area51/Dreamworld/7643/index.html <click> fullthrust
<click> starsheet. Coming soon we'll have 1.1 up at the angelfire site.

I think Laserlight's spreadsheet is the better. My one takes ages to generate
on my old 486. A spreadsheet like Laserlight's is a lot easier to use for
those with MS Excel '95 or better. Are there any here who don't or can't use
MS Excel '95 or better? If there are, let me know on the list. If there are,
I'll keep it maintained, otherwise I'll remove it and we can use Laserlight's
version.
