GeoCities is closing down their website hosting on October 26th so I was
wondering if anyone had plans to archive and/or move the FT Computer
Core
page currently located at http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Station/3565/.
There are lots of good bits there though some are dated, I don't want to see
this resource go away.
Dopey moi...
I'd hoped that the site note: ANNOUNCE: This site is back on Yahoo! and will
be updated soon.
indicated it was already being handled.
I can start archiving, but don't have a good place to post it. Also, I think
some of the links are broken, and needed to be 'updated'.
Will do what I can.

To all those about to remind me that Geocities IS Yahoo, thanks, I remember.

http://mail.csua.berkeley.edu:8080/mailman/listinfo/gzg-lAre there any
resources actually stored there, or is it just a links page? I've used it
recently and would agree it's not something we should lose.
I have spare web space for my own site so could host it, although as I say if
it is just a links page to the best resources then I could simply create a
similar page?

http://mail.csua.berkeley.edu:8080/mailman/listinfo/gzg-l*Its my page,
I'm still here* - I'm moving it to Google sites - I have all
the original assets that were hosted and some of it linked to other resources
(on the insistence of the owners, who some are now long dead) Note the FAQ has
been moved to Google sites (its a link in the footer of
www.fullthrust.net ) - and as sites is a collborative Wikki tool anyone
interested who has a Google account can ping me and I will add you as a
collaborator to the FAQ. Its actually a good system for collaborative web site
building and very easy to use. There is a questions form on the FAQ site that
I did a week or so ago to collect questions. A bigger job is going
through the list - but it's all in Gmail and it has good tools got
search and it's fast.
The plans for computer core are the same - it's a wikki and those who
want access can have rights to add stuff to the site.
I'm hoping Google keeps going longer than the other free hosting sites -
who are now all but gone! Also Google have a easy out promise for all user
data so that means the site can be archived and moved if required.

the new site - I will fix all the links to new assets hosted on
the site (there are a lot) - kill the dead links and do an update
(latter
over time) - things have changed since 1998 (a lot).
