Is anyone else getting loads of virus emails that look like they are from
__johnx1__at__hotmail__dot__com. The virus looks like:
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32nyxemd.html
and the email headers show that the email is coming direct from
170.115.180.153 (at least today), which looks to be from the City of
Philadelphia's net block.
I am at no risk of infection, but I've got over a dozen of these things and it
is very annoying. I suspect someone on the list is infected...
I think that is John Crimmins. I will be seeing him tonight and ask him to
check his system. Tony Finan

I haven't seen any at all. So I doubt if they're coming through the list. Does
this list permit attachments, or are they stripped off?

My apologies -- I've no idea what happened. A barrage of virus-laden
e-mails were fired from my Hotmail account last week, much to my
chagrin. My home system is fine, as is my work computer...the only places from
which I connect to Hotmail. Talking to others, it seems that a number of
people have had the same problem with their Hotmail accounts...I don't know if
one of their machines became infected, or what.
Either way, I need to get organized and shift everything over to Gmail
sometime soon!
