Check this out. Expensive but.... 2.5" clear plastic hex bases with *custom
etching*.

Imagine your BB sailing across the table nicely painted, with a clear base
that is etched
with "UNS Jupiter, UNSC Sol Class BB, BB-1" on the base. Snazzy. And I
think they might be able to handle logos....

I wonder, if there was enough interest for a project like this... they'll do
custom stuff. I wonder if enough folks were interested, what kind of pricing
you could get. Like a line of bases with the UNSC logo, another with NSL, etc.
Maybe get them to see about using square lexan rod instead of the round stuff,
thus making it fit into the brass tubing some of us are already using for
shipmounts. Then you'd have some pretty sweet bases...

Of course, they probably cost about 2/3rds of the cost of what you are
basing....

These ones are 2.5". They have a smaller one too if you poke around their
site. And lots of other cool stuff.
