Sure thing. You see, after all the exchanges, we are all saying exactly the
same thing: while elite small forces have their role, you need larger units to
win a battle and a whole invasion.

> > >...Poland or Yugoslavia in WWII.

(in fact I said "Polish", which was a distinct structure, as you know, without
structural contact with Jews, in fact, for example, did not participate in the
Ghetto uprising)

> The Armia Krajowa might be deeply surprised to hear that--given that

Which are not fighting events but the kind of "special ops" that small groups
are tailored to do...

> fighting in the Zamosec Uprising and Operation

And these are events I simply know nothing about, which proves my limits.

Whose death exactly proves what?

> It's hard to have a conversation with someone who simply makes facts

I could ask for some lessons about the Yugoslavs, too, and why they were
dropped from your discourse, b, friend, with all due respect, I don't care
about such line of reasoning: let's both assume I'm an idiot and I never
opened a book, I still like to occasionally exchange friendly inanities with
anybody who cares to lose a little time hearing me. For the sake of the list
and the fact I have too little time to prepare a paper on each and every line
I write, YOU ARE RIGHT AND I AM WRONG, THREE AMERICAN SPECIAL FORCES GUYS WILL
ALWAYS BE ABLE TO GET ANYTHING TO ITS KNEES AND BEG, ON THIS PLANET OR ANY
OTHER THAT WILL EVER HAVE THE DISPLEASURE TO BE COLONIZED BY HUMANS, even if
defended by the whole Falkenberg's Legion supported by Hammer's
Slammers!!! :)

> > Now you hit a good idea... the existence of a sanctuary and

Yes, I have, heard about it somewhere, probably in one of these nights at the
bar... and obviously, such logistical problems do not regard the invading
force that have to lug it all across Space (yeah, it's not a problem, I'm
making it all up just to anger you)

Thanks to all for the nice exchange and I hope we can move on with different
aspects of the issue. Best wishes

It's an active resistance.

Google is an amazing tool. The exercise is left for the student.

> Karol Juliusz "Igo" Sym would be surprised to hear that, given his

He was assassinated by Polish resistance fighters in 1941.

> It's hard to have a conversation with someone who simply makes facts

You make a definitive statement like "There was no active Polish resistance
until 1944" and get a case of the ass when I tell you flatout you are wrong.
If you know little or nothing about the Polish resistance, then why would you
make a statement of that kind?

You are a piece of work indeed.

tlemen, gentlemen,

Let's keep the discourse civil.

:-)

And if you cannot, then either you each roll a die to determine who
'won'
the exchange, OR, we* shall be forced to create a GZG-MCC (Mediterranean
Coast Convention) which you should both be able to attend in some way, shape
or form. :-)

Mk

committee is already strung out to their limits just dealing with their
convention
:-)

GZG-SBCC (sand box convention) Who knows, maybe
the morale types will let him run a wargaming con. I'm sure it would be
interesting to see who comes out of the wood work to play.

Thing is, when you argue with John A, you damn well better have your ducks in
a row or he'll blow you out of the water and not take prisoners. I know, I've
been on the receiving end. Though, honestly, you should'a seen the argument he
had
with the SF author Tom Kratman....:-) John Ringo
had to break up the skirmish.

Speaking of old battle scars, BTW, John, did you ever see any old Combat
Engineer references to the wood cribbing to hold explosives that would get set
over a dozer blade to set explosives against a barrier? I haven't been able to
find a copy of the FM which covered that but I did peruse one at one point. It
must have been 70's issue.

I'm going to go hide in my armoured car now so I can avoid the incoming.

Yep, which is why the only time I argued with him was when he hit _my_
area of expertise (the American Civil War) and didn't have _his_ ducks
in a row!

It doesn't happen often, which is why it's memorable. *S*

Wow, originally from Canada, and it's the 'American Civil War', and resides
south of the Mason-Dixon, and it's not 'War of the Southern Succession'.

*duck*

I tend to think of it from Nebraska as 'that brief occasion to hand the South
a victory, then back home to suppressing the native population...'

And I have a Civil War roleplaying book being published in the next couple of
months, too! *grin*

Oh, and I'm married to a Texan...

The suppression of the native population didn't actually stop during the Civil
War, particularly in the north. They had to find something for Maj. Gen. John
Pope to do after he lost big at 2nd Manassas...
