The GZG store is now open for business and now features a shopping basket to
enable you to buy all your favouite figures, currently it is located at
www.gtns.net/gzgstore but please do NOT alter any links as it will be in
it's normal location of www.gtns.net/gzg real soon. Currently it does
not
hold any rules items or Squad/platoon packs but this will be added in
the next couple of days at which time it will replace the current online
catalogue.
I will also be creating a gallery for the images I have managed to
collect/been sent over the last few months so keep watching.
Thanks
Here's one, is Jon's office a store aswell? Can you show up and buy there or
do you have to mail order? I ask this because I'm off to the UK in mid Feb and
I was thinking on stopping off and buying some stuff and take a look around if
possible. Don't have to pay shipping (not that shipping costs much) nor duty
(which does).
Dont think he takes callers, but then their is a show on in Feb in Newark if
your in that area (lincolnshire, East midlands) you could pick up from there.

OK Jaime, here's the info you need:
1) We're not a retail store, just a manufacturing and mailorder unit on an
industrial estate; however, we CAN have personal visitors by appointment, and
you'd be very welcome to come and see us! If you do, you can buy stuff while
you're here, provided of course we've got it in stock!
We've got two conventions in Feb, one on the 10th and one on the 24th -
in the few days immediately before each of these we maybe a bit busy!
2) Yes, you'll save the shipping and the duty, BUT you do have to pay the
full UK prices including the VAT, even if you are a non-UK citizen and
intend to take the goods out of the country. Because we're actually selling
them to you within the UK, rather than us mailing them out of the country, the
rules say that we have to treat you the same as a UK customer and charge you
the same taxes. However, we CAN give you a VAT receipt which (if the amount is
worth worrying about) you can use to reclaim the VAT in some way when you
leave the country (I'm not exactly sure how this works, you'd have to inquire
with the Customs people).
If you're coming over, we'd be very happy to see you - please email me
off-list if you want any more details.

When I was in Scotland in '92, the way to do it was to fill out a form that
the Customs folk had at the airport. The easiest way to do it is to go there
when you land and ask them. That way you can get all the stuff you need.
This is true of most countries. In Canada, there are ways of claiming the GST
and (I think) provincial taxes if you live out of the country. This can often
be considerable, though most people don't bother. In the US, I know that
Louisiana has rules about getting the sales tax back for people living outside
of the country (and maybe outside of the state).

My sister and her husband live in Port Huron, MI, just across the river from
Canada. One of the most interesting duty-free stores I've encountered
was there. The way it was handled was, you went, as an American, into the
store on the Canadian side. When you had decided what you wanted to buy, you
gave the item numbers to the store clerks, paid your money, and left. Then you
crossed the bridge, went into the store's American facility, and picked up
your order.

"VAT? That's what you make wine in, right? Spend your money in the
Alarishi Empire, where 'tax' is only a misspelling of 'tacks.'" :-)

Japanese ships have been added with pictures, please try not to crash the
server in the rush to buy, but they look VERY nice, I might have to partake of
a mega fleet deal myself!
thanks
