Hello everyone,
Just a last minute request before ECC......
Does anyone have SSDs for the new ships from GZG?
Looking for the new style NAC, ESU and pirates.
Thanks.

Heh, no sweat there.... was planning on using old ssd's for them anyways.
Was curious if any were out for the pirates though, as they're supposed
to be a hodge-podge of equipment. Those will take a bit of work.

I'll be glad to extend my usual offer to ECC people - if you can't run
my ship design software, give me a set of designs and I'll give you back a
PDF.
Thanks for the offer Roger.
Where is your software located?

"Pirates"? You mean Freelance Wealth Redistribution and Hassle-Free
Import Services?
Freelance Wealth Redistribution... Sure....

Yes. Though I think the version available for download doesn't - they
were still private test systems at that point.

So, if I'm following the thread, new toys are available only if designs are
submitted to you directly, when you will do your magic?
VERY generous of you to do the effort! I hope the designers will be equally
generous in sharing the results. ;->=
Those that can, do, those that can't, thank their a**es off.

Basically, yes. That wasn't the way I intended it, but it seems a fair thing

Has anybody decided to write some fluff or incorporate these new ships into
the timeline? E.g. why did the NAC roll out all new ships... are
these post-Kra'Vak invasion designs (and if so, maybe the new SSD's
should reflect anti-Kra'Vak tactics).
I figure real life sales drove it but I hate history rewrites...
technobabble + fluff would be appreciated.

Actually, in my campeign here in Ohio NAC and ESU rolled out new designed
based on the following..
NAC and ESU are both 2 factions rolled in to 1. NAC being basically
Brittish/American.
Brittish layed down their designs then the Americans layed theirs down. Use
NAC much like NATO. Still letting the Brittish and Americans run their own
naval productions, but of course share their designs and use in fleets..
For ESU, its the Russians and Chinese..
Russians did not have the financial ability to build and maintane a fleet. So
with cooperation from the Chinese, and agreement made that the first line of
ships would be comissioned primarily for Russian ideas and use, and later
designs initiated by the Chinese. In short, The chinese supply the money and
the Russians supply the builing ability. And like the NAC, the ESU maintane
their own forces but share their usage of ships ina fleet...

In the current timeline I am mucking about with, the new ships are the next
generation designs from a decades-long war between the NAC/ESU/FSE/NI
and
the NSL/IJN(/UNSC)/IF. You see, in this particular timeline, Nazi
Germany (and thusly Imperial Japan) won WWII due to some interferences from
2179 (the UNSC is now a puppet of these two powers). This coming weekend (ECC
X
for those who haven't been paying attention ;-) ) will tell the tale of
whether or not this timeline snaps back to the GZG canon timeline (and the
ships are the result of designs after the K'V encounters and Siege of Sol) or
if the Nazi Stratocratic League is successful in thwarting the NAC (et al)
from preventing the interference from happening in the first place.
Cross your fingers that the NSL ultimately lose - I don't want to have
to
run more alternate timeline events at ECC XI ! :-)

LOL My timeline goes the NSL is nuetral..
IJN / NAC vs FSE / ESU
NAC - Anericans got tired of the French starting crap and the americans
having to finish it.. Remember Vietnam??
Japanese and Russians already have a bloody history, now that the chinese
are part of the ESU, only makes sense to reclaim land lost in WW2 :-)

HEY, YOU! DON'T DO DAT! DO DIS!!
These are not "offical" but these will save you time making up SSD's for the
NAC...

Thanks for your designs. I saw them over at SCN a while ago and have been
using them ever since. I like the design philosophy and the story line behind
the design decisions. I recommend everyone at least give them a look. David

ESU? (I saw Vin's page, but didn't see a link for ESU)

He's got them; just needs to add the link to the page.
