list back from bad sheep jokes, convention announcements, etc etc....
Last time I checked, the general opinion was that a Star Wars Imperial SD was
a 1600 meter ship. Personally, I tried making them very large dreadnoughts
when I converted them to FT (which a lot of people didnt agree with *chuckle*
), but I that was because I simply didnt want a 'super ship' that I'd have to
design and laborously hack together a SSD for. What's you guys general opinion
on how much FT mass that translates into?
Also, does anyone have a length in meters for B5's Omega 'destroyer'?

Something to keep in mind with an ISD - it is more than just
a dreadnaught - they are a mobile representation of the Empire,
capable of reducing planetary civilisations to slag. The carry large numbers
of fighters, troops and heavy ground assualt vehicles as well as just being
something to attach weapons to.
Personally, I don't think FT can handle ISDs effectively, though my recent
watching of the IMPs film has made me want to try again.

About the same size. If you haven't, have a look at:

Well, depends what role you're using them for, if they're the
equivalent of big capitals (i.e. the largest non-super-ship in play),
then 250-500 MASS.

Well, I know it can be definitely shown that it is _not_ about 1717m,
I think the best value (based on comparisons with B5, the size of
which _is_ known) is between 1200 and 1320m.
Oh, and there is _no_Way_ that White Stars are 465m long, 465' OTOH...
Almost all B5 ship sizes quoted on the Web are wrong, probably
including these :-)
You may have guessed this is a long-standing gripe for me :-)

Isn't B5 supposed to be about five miles (8047 metres) long?

Ooops! Sorry... I just realised I miss-read the posting and 1200m was
the length of a ship compared to B5, not B5 itself.
My bad, Robert Bryett...

I think Red Dwarf is supposed to be 5 miles long.

[snip]
IIRC some sources claim 15 km for Red Dwarf, the only definitive info (again
IIRC) that I can think of as to its size is the fact that it
has 20,000 odd decks (going all the way down took several _hours_ by
express lift ;-). Determining the size of the ship from this info is
left as an exercise for the reader/viewer :-)

yes, by opening comentary, Babylon is 5 miles long. Home to humans and
aliens...
Now by comparis9on and judging, an earth Omega destroyer is like 1/4 the
length of B5... And that makes the Minbari Sharlin cruisers very BIG!!!

Going by the size of the (not Fleet Action) models I've Always run them as
BDNs.
