SG: Base Armour: d6 (chitin shell)
Base Speed: 8"/d8x2 (better armour slows down as normal)
Psychology: Solo hunter; Any Ixx that counts as "independant" uses the
movement/hidden rules for snipers. This also applies to any detachments
of 1 figure from a squad, or a squad reduced to 1 figure.
DS: no thoughts yet.
FT: Favour the use of heavy fighters and small escort ships?

Hola all,
I'm so buying some of these, and am beginning to wonder how we should play em,
any thoughts?
Andy
The armor and speed seem alright, though I am not sure I dig the psychology
rules.
The psychology rules seems to go down that slippery slope of rubbersuit scary
movie monster. Though not impossible, it's unlikely that
space-faring, socialized, organized insectoid aliens are still adept
predators much in the same way that our own killer instincts have been
diminished by civilizing ourselves. If they are not naturally keen hunters
then what you are saying is that they are somehow all trained as stalkers and
akin to commandos.
Some other psychology rules you might want to include are perhaps some
things to simulate that they think in a very non-mammal way. Perhaps
they do not give much regard to their dead, much as ant colonies do
(morale/leadership modifiers)? Maybe they can communicate quietly
through chemicals (modified communication rules)? Perhaps they are resistant
to certain types of environments? Now, these are not all psychology of course,
but they are the sorts of things that you can throw in instead of an alternate
psychology rule.
I'm not an actual Stargrunt player, so I am not too good with stats for
things, but I think almost any idea can be reflected in any system.

Could these be what is "pushing" the KV?

Maybe they are squeamish about soft, squishy bipedal creatures.

But do you play one on tv? :-D

SG:> Base Armour: d6 (chitin shell)
Could they use armor on top of this, are they high tech?, what about personal
force fields on top?
> Base Speed: 8"/d8x2 (better armour slows down as normal)
sounds good, (think SG2 needs differentiated movement rules -
particularly for vehicles...)
> Psychology: Solo hunter; Any Ixx that counts as "independant" uses
would welcome further discussion here, like the suggested chemical
communication, but unsure of the ignore the dead idea, I'm thinking they
would be high tech - almost a higher power, so would not be the type who
would be in a SG scenario en masse, but might be a small group
supporting other forces (probably NPC in a campaign I'm planning) - I'm
thinking they'd be detatched from the squabbling between states that the
tuffley verse seems to comprise (apart from the unification that the
Kravak bring) - so would only step in to tip the balance in favour of
their long term goals...
