They're so cute... but the wrong scale!

Fortunately (I am skint and having my local model shop
threaten to bring in that 1/35th scale locomotive kit
from Trumpeter is not going to help).

I am not sure why but the tanks just look right when so many SF tank models do
not. The light tank is especially nice.

Hats off to Jon for some really nice designs.

Are a puma and a cougar not the same beast though? That North American big cat
[1] with far too many names (four at least plus a Latin tag)?

I wonder how long it will be before someone asks if the guncrab legs are
available separately.

Michael

Notes 1. Well I think it might technically be a small cat, I do not remember
and cannot be bothered to look it up and I am only mentioning it in case
someone pounces on an apparent mistake.

Puma, Cougar, Mountain Lion are the three main ones I'm aware of. We still
have them in the mountains around my home, but I'm sure there are some other
tags assigned locally in other resgions.

hear about Florida Panthers all the time. Ever heard one purr?

Imagine the damage a 200 Lb panther could do with one swipe across the gaming
table. Minis everywhere.

impression that only one wild cat purred and that was the Cheetah. I know
other wild cats make a sound called "chuffing" which really sounds to me like
the noise I make before I lose my lunch. Wow, talk about way off topic.

purring very loudly. It sounded like a house cat with a microphone and a 150

It's worse than that. Regionally it is known as a puma, a cougar, a mountain
lion, a catamount, a painted cat, and a panther (but not to be confused with a
"black panther", which is actually a variant of
leopard/jaguar). That's not counting the name of the critter in native
dialects.

It ranges from northwest British Columbia to Southern Argentina and Chile.

In North America it's most commonly called a cougar or mountain lion.

In Florida we have bobcats and panthers. I've never seen a panther in the
wild, I have seen several bobcats.

Well, all I can say is that Ford UK have two very different car models called
the Puma and Cougar, so I guess it'll do for the time
being.... ;-)

Mind you, if anyone else has any other good tank/vehicle type names
that we (or other manufacturers of similar lines) haven't already used in
other ranges, feel free to suggest them.
