SIGH!

Mike thinks we all have Traveller: Adventure 7 -
Broadsword sitting on the shelf at home. Yes, Mike.
I did at one time own that - but I don't now! :)

What, you mean you actually got rid of gaming stuff?

You're seriously losing gamer cred, man!

I wasn't even talking when Traveller: Adventure 7 came out, but I have the
reprint.

"Broadsword - the first in a class of 800-ton mercenary cruisers devoted
to keeping the peace and restoring order, for a price. Included are detailed
deck plans, tables of organization and equipment for the strike team aboard,
and four exciting scenarios (one for use with High Guard and three for use
with Mercenary and Striker!), all set in the Vilis subsector, against the
backdrop of the Fifth Frontier War."

http://lists.csua.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gzg-lEvery gaming item I
ever sold I regret. Even the old Evil Empire stuff that payed for my cross
country move. Luckily I have a buddy with a angel of a wife and a huge game
room so I still have boxes sowed away that I don't know whats in them. Best
part is my old gaming group uses lots of my terain, trees and WW2 stuff so
while I get in a game about 2 times a year my collection is still in use and
getting the TLC it needs.

I sold about three quarters of my game collection when I moved from Canada
down here to Louisiana (spread over the course of about 3 years).

I can't say that I regret everything. I still have a lot of games I never get
a chance to play. Many of the games I sold weren't as great as I remembered,
anyway. I sold my entire collection of Supremacy, but I don't think I ever
played more than 3 games to completion. I had about 75% of the ASL modules,
but I finally had to admit I'd never learn the system; I sold it all to a guy
in Alaska.

I regret a couple of games I sold, mostly because I now have an 8 year old
son. I probably regret selling of Advanced Heroscape most, as I think he'd get
a kick out of it right now. We were talking about Car Wars a little while ago,
and how I had most of the modules (though I also remember the dense rule book,
and think that maybe it wasn't all that I remember it to be...).

For the most part, though, the games I have and play now I prefer to those
that I sold. I do still have a bunch of old games that I won't sell (such as
Avalon Hill's Gunslinger, and Up Front) but I notice that I hardly play those
even though I want to keep them.

http://lists.csua.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gzg-lI sold damn near
all games.. Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, AD&D, Magic, Vampire,
Star Fleet Battles...

To many damn new rules and options that cimpicate the game and take the fun
out of it...

Plain and simple, games are meant to have fun, not stress over rules and

fight with friends over whats legal and whats not based on new optionsand
rules...

played it all the time. The kids and I still pull that one out every few
months. When they remember Dad has not watched a Harry Potter movie
and will always loose at "Harry Potter- scene it".

At the risk of throwing this further off topic, I still have Panzer Leader, my
first ever wargame, as well as Panzerblitz, Richthofen's War, Gunslinger, Up
Front, Squad Leader, Wooden Ships and Iron Men, FirePower, and the entire
Great Campaigns of the American Civil War
series. I sold Arab-Israeli War at one point, but bought it again
cheap on eBay. I lost a copy of Luftwaffe, but now have an unpunched copy that
I bought at an antique place for $7.

I try to haul one of these out every now and again and play it, but time's
always at a premium. I did play Panzer Leader around the time of my 43rd
birthday, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of me as a board wargamer.
