This is a LITTLE OT, but it concerns GZG vehicles so, here goes:

I'm trying to build a small collection of 25mm figures for use in my D20
Future setting. I'm currently weighing my options for a small Infantry
Vehicle. The ideal would be capable of fitting two in an
interface lander the size of a C-130, but capable of carrying one or
two fire teams. I've looked at the DLD Kamodo, and judging from the size
comparison picture, it's too big. Can anyone tell me how the following
vehicles compare in size?

GZG M38D LIPPC (SF25-57)
GZG Phalanx (SF-25-86)
Old Crow Claymore Old Crow Trojan

Ebbles makes some pretty nice stuff that you can print out on card stock and
put together. Comes in many different colors. Works just about perfect fro
25mm.

I have several of his models and after you build one or two they look very
good. And for $4 US/paper/ink you can have as many as you like.

Highly recommended.

Very nice, thanks. Can you comment on them in terms of size comparison to the
models I've mentioned?

I think I have seen this one. It's about 10cm long I think and fairly low
profile, so you should be able to fit two into a dropship or aircraft.

I like it's look, very reminiscent of the APC in Aliens (and I believe I have
some bits to render ONE model even more so), and I like that look, though the
low clearance seems a problem for any operations outside the immediate LZ. But
while the shape is nice, it's hard to judge size from the pic. Thanks for the
info.

You're welcome. There is a similar model in a different configuration(no.67).
That 10cm measurement is from memory, so if you want to be sure, check with
Jon before ordering.

Hiya,

I've never see the Old Crow vehicles "live", so no comment there.

The Phalanx is similar in size to the Kamodo, and taller when fully
constructed. I would suggest too big for what you want.

The M38D is much more suited to your requirements in size.

On the GZG store

http://www.gtns.co.uk/store1/commerce.cgi?product=SF25&keywords=&cart_id

they have a picture of it, but better yet, they have a picture of it next to
an interface lander here:

http://www.gtns.co.uk/store1/commerce.cgi?product=SF25&exact_match=on&ca
rt_id=187507.21468

at the bottom of the page.

I would say in SG game terms that the M38D would be a size 2 or 3 vehicle
(3 at most, stretching), with enough interior space for 2 crew and 4-6
dismounts, but YMMV.

Good to know, thanks.

So I've been led to believe.

Right, saw those, but I've never seen the interface lander live, so it still
gave me no point of reference.

For the interface lander I plan on using, I plan (once the bidget
allows) to take a WH40K Tau Devilfish and kit-bash it into a sort of
oversized Vectored thrust inteface VTOL, more in the role of a modern
transport aircraft or Helo than a spaceborne version of a landing craft, but
large enough to carry one or two vehicles.

Sounds plausible. In D20 terms, I'd rank it as Huge. I'm actually going with 3
crew (since I'll be moving the turret back, it'll have a separate gunner, not
be Commander served) and 6 dismounts.

I would suggest that a Devilfish size vehicle would "plausibly" carry at

least one M38D without a problem. Of the three that I've seen (Phalanx,

M38, Kamodo) this one is by far your best best.

Agreed. The fact that the Devilfish is a 28mm model means it should be
whopping when bashed into 25mm. I'm thinking that some F4 Phantom wings would
look sweet bashed onto it. The drones at the front will be converted into
variable geometry canards.
