With the "old" ships coming to end of life, are there any plans to come out
with 'official' SSDs for the new ships? Granted, for a large quantity of
ships, we can match classes with current SSDs, but with newer ships (including
cargo and assault ships), I wondered if the SSDs would be updated as well.

This MIGHT be less an issue if FTIII is at least near on the horizon, though
I'd be hoping that the old ships will have upgrade SSD's, or the old versions
will be in some sense compatible.

Any comment, Jon OR developement/playtest group, on the progress on the
ruleset redesign?

On another score, I rather am partial to the old designs, but have cursed
some of the Geo-Hex casts I own. Might be a good time to flush 'em out
on eBay, with suitably dire quotes from the last GZG announcement, and buy
from the last of the GZG moulds. ;->=

FT3 is coming along pretty well. It's not press-ready yet, but it's come
a
LONG way past where it was two years ago. :-) Still some testing to
be done, hopefully some holes to finish closing, but overall it's coming
together well.

Good

The cryptic comment was referring to FT2.5 stats and SSDs for the new
design ship minis - Dean (Star Ranger) is very kindly putting a lot
of work into collating designs from various sources for these and making up
SSDs for them. More news as the project progresses!

As to FT3, it IS getting closer - after a long period of inactivity
due to other stuff needing to be done, real progress is currently
being made. :-)

w00t! I need to see if the IJSF ships ever had a crystallized set of stats!
Actually, ditto the IF for one of the other players in the
group...
