A little preview of our latest 15mm SF vehicles; now entering production
(moulds being made right now, the pics are of assembled castings from the
master moulds). These will be fully available in a few days, but please note
that owing to holidays, they may NOT be up on our store for ordering until
after the current Summer Discount
Deal is finished - BUT, if you are planning an order to take
advantage of the deal and you want some of these new minis, you can add them
to your order by asking us for them in the "comments" field and we'll add them
on for you.

For those of you who like tracked vehicles for your 15mm low and medium tech
level troops, we have a new family of APCs for you! Available in several
variants, from the basic Battle Taxi APC to Command, Logistics and Fire
Support versions, with more to follow.

V15-35A Tracked Heavy APC with light autocannon turret £6.50
V15-35B Tracked Heavy APC with Missile System £6.50
V15-36A Tracked Heavy Command Vehicle (2 comms system options, dish
or ball) £7.00
V15-37A Tracked Heavy Logistics or Recovery vehicle with crane £6.50
V15-38A Tracked Heavy Fire Support Vehicle with Light AA cannon or
twin RAM mortar (both weapon options supplied) £7.00

Pics have just been posted on TMP at
<http://theminiaturespage.com/news/735587/>, so hop over there and
take a look.

The models are approx. 70mm long x 36mm wide when assembled, and are 15mm
scale. As with all our V15 range, these are ALL METAL kits (easily assembled
with superglue or epoxy), some with optional parts and weapon
variants; for example, the V15-38A FSV comes with parts to build
either the AA cannon version or the twin-barrelled rapid fire RAM
mortar version. All variants with open hatches are supplied with a commander
figure. The antennae shown in the pics are plastic brush bristles, fixed with
a dab of superglue into the mounting points cast on the mini!

All prices shown are in GBP; US/Canadian and other non-EU customers
please remember that you get almost 15% off the list prices automatically due
to the VAT saving, on top of any discount from the Summer Deal!

models looks very nice, but I always wonder about the rear mounted turrets for
APCs. Don't the turret fittings, seats gunners feet etc, get in the way of the
troop compartment. I thought the design of the LAV and the Bradley with the
turret up front made good sense to have a fighting compartment with the
vehicle crew in the front part of the vehicle and a troop compartment module
in the rear. Then your troop compartment module becomes the command area,
enginering space, medical ambulance bay etc in all the variations of the
family.

in this case, there is 2 pictures of turrets with a figure (commander or
gunner) sticking out of the top of the turret. So the turrets are not simple
remote weapon stations. Even with remote weapon stations you need ammo hoppers
accessible from inside the vehicle or your crew have to go outside the vehicle
to reload. Not a popular task in a firefight. The vehicles look nice and the
turrets are a good size but I think they need to be moved up front like they
are on the engineer variant.

Â
Those rear-mounted guns are usually remotely operated. Even on the
early Marders, these were remote guns. But these have always been smaller
turrets with no men in them. Nor sure on these designs. Â

Those are mannequins from the old 20th century store called B-Mart or
L-Mart or S-Mart or something like that, filled with sensor arrays. They
are also to fool the enemy into *thinking* they are manned turrets...

The actual APC version DOES have its small turret at the front, for
exactly the reason you mention. The ones with the rear-mounted
turrets are the FSV versions which are weapon carriers, not troop carriers. In
the case of the FSV mortar version, I would think that most of the rear bay
would be stacked with huge amounts of ammo to
keep the twin rapid-fire autoloading mortars well fed.

Well, if people want them then we'll do them! We already supply some
of the smaller turrets and weapon mounts as part of the V15-ACC
range, would people like to see the larger turrets (tank and artillery) in
this range too?

I had noticed that after finally getting a chance to look at the models.
