Indeed. While the newer ships are nice, I find the designs too busy. It worked
fine for the UN because of the relatively boxy design, but I prefer the older
FSE, NSL, and NAC. It'd be nice to pick up some deals on the older models if
and when people sell them.

Does this mean the original masters or master moulds are wearing out? I
thought these last for almost infinity.

Each to their own, it's all a matter of personal taste - which is why
we're keeping the old designs in production alongside the new ones,
at least until moulds wear out.... :-)

The metal master castings (produced from the original master moulds)
can be re-used to make almost endless number of replacement
production moulds - the question is, as the current set of production
moulds wear out, are future sales of the old designs going to warrant the time
and expense of making new replacement production moulds for them, or do we
just let them go quietly OOP?
So it's not a question of whether we CAN replace worn-out moulds
(yes, we can) it's whether it is commercially viable to do so now that all the
new designs are out.

This all depends on sales I suppose. Big companies usually have huge
management information systems to track how sales are evolving /
declining to make such decisions, but I suspect that for you it'll
be more like seat-of-your-pants guestimates?

Yes, that's about it! ;-)

Even if we decide to retire the old models as regular stock items, it should
still be possible to produce a few to special orders for anyone who needs to
complete fleets. But please remember that this is all in the future, at
present everything is still fully available.

I'd think flames of war would be a good set of rules that you could graft on
any additional rules for things like helicopters and other weapon systems you
might want to add.

the in game effects of most sci-fi energy weapons are very similar to
large caliber kinetic weapons.

Flames of war rules also have a good feel for the difference between elite
units and conscripts and you can divorce courage from skill. So you can field
hordes or fanatical rabble or war weary veterans that don't want to risk
death.

However there is a serious following who really like the opposed roll
mechanism and all the chits and counters. So I guess it is doubtful that new
rules development would go in a different direction.

Oh your good john, lol, I see what your doing changing the subject of where's
,the new v3 fullthrust, by stateing old models are better than the new one's
topic, you must of learnt from the evil pineapples empire at robin

hoods old place.lol {GW}

just jokes mate, I see that over the last year every man and his dog has been
doing variants of GW warmaster, from ww2 to moderns to franco prussian war,
with so much GZG 15mm sci fi stuff out, have you been tempted to do a another
rules system for this scale.

I know most would use stargrunt, but has anyone done, or are using there own
fast play version of stargrunt, for those big mass did you bring your bed roll
games.

Now Im thinking I could always use my old fleets as in system defence ship's.
