Question for those of you who use our 15mm infantry:
We are starting on some extra packs for the existing infantry forces, things
like kneeling and prone figures, extra support weapons,
snipers, officers, comms/ecm guys and all that stuff.....
First out will be a generic Command unit pack (for combat group HQs),
consisting of senior officers, NCOs/sentries, comms operators etc,
all in fatigues only. PLUS... A pack of kneeling and prone riflemen for each
of the NAC, NSL, NI
and ESU. We picked these as the most popular/best selling forces, and
this first batch has now been commissioned from the sculptor.
Now, the question is which nations do we pick NEXT to do the
kneeling/prone figs for?
Options are:
UNSC Islamic Fed FSE Kra'Vak OUDF
Free Cal-Tex
Japanese Phalon Colonial Militia
If you'd like to rate these in your own personal order of preference, the
results would be very useful!
Best,

Oooooooo.....!
Options are:
1) UNSC 2) Kra'Vak 3) Phalon
4) Free Cal-Tex
5) FSE 6) Colonial Militia 7) OUDF
Haven't played with/acquired any of the others listed.
BTW, you forgot Grunts and the Egyptian dudes. ;-) (the latter who may
never be prone much, but do kneel). Then there are the scanfeds, but I s'pects
they are much further down the list.

will make it to 25? I'd buy 48 of those today, even if there were only 2 or
three poses. I really want those for running a game at Dragon Con using the
StarGrunt rules.

That's because we haven't done the Dutch figs at all in 15mm yet -
but don't worry, they're one of the remaining forces I want to get round to
eventually!

I'd say...
Islamic Fed
Free-Cal-Tex
OUDF UNSC Phalon Kra'Vak Colonial Miltia FSE Japanese
What about Slammers???
Thanks for soliciting opinions. You're the best Jon.
I thought someone else had the license for the vehicles. I think the 25mm
stuff was before the deal.

Jon, do you have figs in the starter packs with rules?

And, having put my foot in it in the past, is there any hard feelings betwixt
thee and Old Crow? Just seemed natural that you'd both have links to the
other. A simple answer to my first question of "Yes, now hush!" is enough.

I would prefer Phalons. I have Phalons, NAC, and ESU in 15mm.
I have no plans to buy any other nations in the foreseeable future. I will
probably expand on what I have.
> I thought someone else had the license for the vehicles. I think the
OK, the condensed version of the full story is this:
We did the 25mm "Slammers" vehicles in our range (SF25-101, 102, 103)
in collaboration with South London Warlords (specifically, John Treadaway),
before the Handbook project was ever mentioned. The vehicle designs were the
nearest that John and I could come up with between us based on what little
design material had already been published in various places. Then, when the
Slammers Handbook project was started and Dave Drake gave his approval for it,
it turned out that our visualisations were
not quite what the author had in his mind while writing - so after
some discussions it was decided that Jez at Old Crow would do some new ones
based on David's descriptions, while we concentrated on doing the infantry,
again to Drake's descriptions. However, David has always been very happy with
us continuing to do our original vehicle designs, to the extent that they have
been written into the handbook as earlier marks still in use by other units.
I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that Dave Drake is a REALLY
nice guy, and
has been wonderfully supportive of the whole thing! :-)
> Jon, do you have figs in the starter packs with rules?
Yes, MiniWarg's starter pack uses our 15mm figures along with the Old
Crow vehicles - you get some of our 15mm slammers (of course) plus
some NSL troops as the opposition force.

No problems at all between us and Jez at OC - he's a nice guy and a
really talented designer, and the stuff he's working on is quite
different from ours in most cases - I think we complement each other
rather than directly compete.
