I forwarded Mike's note to a friend that used to work with our Dept of Roads. He said he once took one that had been set aside at a rest stop and programmed 'Surrender Dorothy'... Apparently, not everyone got it. I'm waiting to see a remotely programmed one seriously amusingly hacked. Also waiting for the AAR photos from the Zombie game to see if the signs got prop-ed in... The_Beast PS Props to the folks that didn't remove the important REAL message, but merely added pages. Is responsible pranksters a contradiction in terms? > Re: [GZG] New props for the zombie games?

Heh... So.... Does anyone make a portable roadsign display system miniature, in any scale? (28/25, 15, 6, 2...... 1:1 doesn't count) [quoted original message omitted]

I just thought of the little 'wand' style LED signs, some attached to a box, that would look like an holographic version... Prolly would take a LONG shutter speed to show on the photos, though. The_Beast Hudak, Michael wrote on 01/28/2009 10:00:51 AM: > Heh... ***snippage of my stuff*

Someone with stronger Google-fu than me should be able to find a matching font. I'm pretty sure it's out there because I've seen news reports with State transportation workers changing messages via software. The message on the screen looked identical to the box on the road. I somehow feel that FMA'd BB would be a slightly more serious game, and would lose flavor. <shrug> FMA Rollerball OTOH...:) J On Wed, Feb 4, 2009 at 11:13 AM, Hudak, Michael <mihudak@state.pa.us> wrote: > I gotta figure out how to do this..... :-) http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2009-01-29/news/arizona-cardinals-fans-be tter-get-ferocious-or-the-steeler-nation-will-eat-them-alive/2 > "Last week, someone changed an electric road sign in Tempe to read "Go

I need to find appropriate minis to convert into two teams, with bikes. :) Toying with using the generic "parts" from Impact Miniatures, but just haven't gotten up enough planning/motivation. :) I do have a copy of the original Rollerball on DVD, which I periodically pull out for inspiration... Not to worry; I was mostly poking fun. I know TBA when I see it... ;->= Still, your mentioning of bikes triggered a memory. I'm SURE someone gave it a go, though not necessarily FMA-style. Prolly one of the Belgique guys. They be crazy. (Meant as the sincerest compliment!) The_Beast John Lerchey on 02/04/2009 01:05:46 PM: > No where. For several years, I have seen a Rollerball game at Historicon. I rarely see it in the PEL, so I have yet to play it. But I have seen the set up and it is insanely drool generating if you are even remotely a fan. A custom built rollerball stadium, heavily converted figures decently painted (~40mm(?)). Often there is a little sign posted next to it saying "commercial product is in development, rules and figures not available - don't ask!". A state that has remained unchanged for the, minimum, 3 years I have spotted it - probably more like 4. I imagine you would have to layout out the track with offset squares for movement and just use FMA for combat type mechanics. I would think converting all the figures would be more daunting than the rule creation. Hmmm, another thing to roll around in the back of my head and distract me from work..... _______________________________________________ Gzg-l mailing list Gzg-l@vermouth.csua.berkeley.edu http://vermouth.csua.berkeley.edu:1337/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gzg-lI like converting minis.:) Just have to find the right base models, and determine some things like how many players on a team, etc. Mostly you have "guys", "catchers" and bikers from what I recall. And by that, I mean from a visual standpoint. all guys wear the same uniform/armor, but the catchers have a scoop glove and bikers have bikes. I'd update the skates to in-line, which would be trivial to model. I agree with the offset "squares" in concentric rings, and I'm already thinking about things like max and min speeds, adjustments or climbing or diving on the ramp, slowing after a bike drop, not being able to move non-frontally (front three facings on squares) unless you're going slow enough without having to make some kind of agility roll... yeah, my brain is highly distracted.:) But it would be a lot of fun if done right. and it's WAY to close to the ECC for me to even thing about trying to pull anything off for this year!
