Just out of curiosity.... Now that I know there are all of these other
formulations of Mt Dew out there.... (w/o caffeine.... That's just
Wrong!)

Anyone ever use the stuff for removing paint from miniatures?

Just curious.

I have considered using Coke for it, after all if it wasn't "foodstuff" it
would be classified as hazardous.

Well, Coke works great as a toilet cleaner... (used neat, NOT after
you've drunk it....) ;-)

l, if Coke can clean toilets, and the acids eat up a steak off the bone,

maybe I will give it a shot at pain removing LOL And just think, all those
wonderful uses for coke, and we drink the
stuff???
Makes you want to know what your insides look like huh? Maybe something a
marine tossing a frag grenade inside an APC fully loaded of already insured
bleeding troops??

So there I was, victim of a catastrophic failure in the hydraulic system of an
AVLB, that involved probably twenty gallons (in metric, "one hell of a lot" of
liters) or so of 10W soaking me from head to boots.

I set my subordinates to cleaning up the mess, immediately departed the
motorpool, and returned to my quarters. Now, I had been tossing a can of Coke
in the washing machine with oily coveralls for some time now, but that was
incidental oil.

This called for a two liter bottle of Coke, mostly full, poured into the sink
and cut half with water. I put everything I was wearing except my boots in the
sink, took a shower, put on clean uniform, and returned to the motorpool.

The coveralls and boxers came out like new, you could never tell they were
soaked with oil. The boots were never quite the same, but they were old, ratty
motorpool boots anyway.

Coke seems to have many of the cleaning properties of vinegar, (due to acid
content?) but is not as strong smelling.

I think the "urban legends" he's talking about involve things like nails or
teeth dissolving in Coke. That's rather silly, since Coke definitely has
nowhere near the acid content of say, the human stomach.
