i was going to ask, and the tumult of the Exodus seems to be an appropriate
moment; why exactly is there a ruler stuck to the bottom of your posts?

Seriously, to indicate where word wrap occurs on my email. I'm disturbed by
bad page breaks. Normally, I delete the ruler, but occasionally I forget. Are
