'Mad Boffin' over a the SCN forums has done some kitbashing of Kra'Vak SDNs
and is now working on a carrier. He has posted great in process pictures I
thought you guys might be interested.

They are really, really nice - so nice that I may well pinch some of
the ideas (oops, of course I meant "be inspired by them") when I get
round to revamping/adding to the K'V fleet..... ;-)
Now that the "big 4" human fleets are all resculpted, that leaves the K'V as
pretty much the last surviving legacy of the old CMD sculpts in the FT range
(though of course it has been expanded since then by Oerjan's excellent
additional designs); it is thus the obvious next candidate for an overhaul,
and is something that I hope to get round to before too much longer.

Indeed... I was thinking of asking the guy if he'd mind if I copied his bridge
section <g>
Though I'm not too hot on the swept-forward pylons - a bit too similar
to
the NI IMO :-/

I am just amazed at what folks can achieve in fleet scale. I do not seem to
have the ability to work with such precision at such a small scale.
Hats off to all of you who can do this,

As they say, YMMV. I think the new pylons are the best bit of the entire
rework. They give some mass to the K-gun support structure, which always
seemed rather spindly to me, and was one reason why I didn't get any
Krak ships above BB-size, and they give the whole ship more weight and
presence by having most of the main features in a group rather than
spread out -- which might be better in a combat situation but doesn;t
look as good IMO. I'm mostly indifferent to the other stuff Mad Boffin has
done, though I do think the finished designs look good, but I really
like the larger, swept pylons. It's all a matter of taste, anyway.
