Just a quick poll: how many people use Independent Characters special rule for
their officers?
I've heard that it is pretty common, but I'm not clear on how many people do
that as opposed to the default rules where you have the leader buried in a
whole squad.

I guess you can put me in that camp!:0)
I find it just matches how my LT used to perform, moving from squad to squad
(same with the PSgt, CSM or RSM).

You saw your LT? Sheesh...ours was buried neck deep in the FDC and we
had the PSgt breathing down our necks 24/7. That's arty though.

[TomB] Reserve infantry unit in a university town. We had a surplus of
junior ossifers. We did see our section commanders and the platoon warrant
more regularly, but the LT was fairly present. Leg infantry, so he if he
doesn't keep up, he's no longer part of unit cohesion!:0)
Join the paras and watch your officer jump out the plane before you, join
specops and share a slit trench and bucket with him for a month or join the
armour and spend all day with him resting his feet on your shoulders while you
act as his chauffeur.
