Thanks for the reminder, Mike. I shall be taking a few hours off today, and
will explain it's for Canada Day!

Should get some looks in Nebraska.

In honour of Canada Day, I bought doughnuts for the office. It's become a
tradition.

If I could figure a way of ordering Tim Horton's doughnuts from Canada (or
even one of the states that has a Tim's) and get them down here without
spoiling, I would!

something to think about Allan:

There are NINE Tim Hortons within a 35 mile radius of GZG-ECC's new
location.

Yeah.... Unfortunately, there is also 1200 miles of winter-time
interstate
between my house and GZG-ECC. (That's about an hour than Paris to
Stockholm.)

It's highly unlikely that I'd be able to make an ECC. If I *was* to make that
drive (and we've discussed it) it would be during the summer (= Historicon or
trip to Gettysburg).

Allan, just fly up and catch a ride with one of the ECCers passing by an
airport. Let them drive. :-D

Alana wanted me to fly to Indy for GenCon. (I can afford GenCon because I'm
running games for Arc Dream in support of one of my books, so the hotel and
entry is free.) Unfortunately, flights out of Monroe, LA are pricey. I could
fly out of Jackson, MS on Southwest, but Jackson is far enough away to be an
impediment.

It's all rather moot, though. Alana lost her job in 2008 due to health
reasons. She's working temporarily for the Census Bureau, but that job ends in
a month or two. Finances will be an issue likely for years to come.
