I haven't picked one up yet, so only saw in package, but I strongly suggest
you hit the local toy seller, I saw it in a TRU, and check out the Terminator
Salvation Hunter Killer (Flyer). The $23US seems a bit steep for a toy of it's
size, but it's darn pretty!

I also found this.

http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PL57400A

It mentions that each vehicle in the line has a 3.75" figure that fits
inside it. Based on the picture I'd say the HK Flyer is 7-8" long
(that's what she said). Sorry, can't help myself (that's what she said).

*sigh*

I stopped in TRU today and found the HK and the dual gattling gun action
figure. Bought them.

Now do people want full unboxing pictures or just the final toy pictures?

Also, the Star Trek action figures are out in TRU as well. Many 3 1/2
figures a few 6 inch figures, phaser, tricorder, communicator, and $30
Enterprise. I passed on all of it. The Enterprise still looks funny to me and
the phaser is just sad. When you turn the phaser from stun to kill, the blue
tip *rotates* 180 degrees and is replaced by a red tip.

This from a man who bought 12" Kollosus (Kollosi?) from Cubix for use as
titanic steam walkers. Still have the Death in the Dark 'Prussian' dwarves to
go with them...

> Now do people want full unboxing pictures or just the final toy

If possible, some piccies unboxed with/surrounded by various game figs,
including Evil Empire(tm). Scale and how they blend seem to be on the minds of
all.

Also, is there a flying stand? Particulars would be good there as well.
Course, I'll probably pick one up myself soon enough. Something to show the
lads and lasses at the store.

> Also, the Star Trek action figures are out in TRU as well. Many 3 1/2

Gave 'em a look as well, but obviously not close enough. Didn't notice the
phaser action. Could it be it's part of a 'retro'? look. After all, they use
parachutes, for goodness sakes!

Strangely, I didn't even see an Enterprise. Maybe wiped out already? This is a
job for Google Image!

This is how the pistols (some disagreement if they were phasers or lasers) in
the original Star Trek pilot ("The Cage," later reworked into "The
Menagerie") worked - a rotating array of lenses, and shot strength was
'dialed' in thusly. So this is almost certainly an intentional design nod to
those weapons.

chance you could photograph the HK next to a GZG figure or two? (15mm or
25mm - just say which?)

Or failing that, next to some demonstrable size references - 28mm or
30mm figures or an inch tape?

Did both.

Which is looks better/more frightening/the front of the T1:

Thanks, Mike! There weren't any treaded HK's (T1?) when I was at the store.
Definitely a little too re-envisioned Lost In Space.

By the way, I thought the big bots were both hunter-killers originally,
or was it just my imagination? Took a minute to Google, and apparently I
wasn't the only deluded soul, but some of the piccies suggest the third tread
on the 'HK Tank' was in place of two in the rear of the original. Oh, yeah,
soooo much better....

It could have been worse; it could have tried kettenrad-trike.

Also thanks for showing the lower part of the flying HK open; you might try
another angle to show just how dumb it looks. To think, they could have had a
proper drop ramp...

Have to give cred for the wheel for turbine rotation standing out, but looking
ok.

Am I the only one who wishes they'd have left off the long tail stabilizers?

<harumph!> And just WHAT is wrong with kettenkrads?? Maybe not the most
efficient, but it was a cool, neat vehicle, and it's just a shame that the
Machines didn't recognize that design as such.

> Also thanks for showing the lower part of the flying HK open; you

...for the purposes it was built, why would it need a drop ramp? Isn't it a
standalone autonomous flying machine? No need for passenger space (ammo
space maybe ;-) ). And while yeah, would be nice to have something
similar with a drop ramp for 25 or 15mm, but isn't that what kitbashing is all
about. :-D (for those who can do it, that is ;-) ).

> Have to give cred for the wheel for turbine rotation standing out, but

Hmmm, weren't they more of a perpendicular V-shape in the movie(s)?

Ok, I've a huge crush on 'em, too. However, for an upright monster
vehicle....

I've already admitted to being competence challenged!

However, I think the outline of the drop out is nasty complicated
hammerhead shape; and dumb. There's a clip to hold the T-700 prone.
Course, it's a toy.

> Have to give cred for the wheel for turbine rotation standing out,

You are correct, sir! However, I think they were smaller, and no secondary
lower fins.

First and foremost, though, tis most kewl, and I hope it's overproduced and
put in cut-out bins.

Competence challenged AND cheap!

http://lists.csua.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gzg-lThanks for the
pictures Mike.

In a wheeled design, the rear wheel would pivot and steer. This is silly on a
tracked setup as *you just run the tracks separately to spin or turn*. And it
looks very vulnerable. If they'd made it just a full length two track chassis,
it would have been nicer. Probably you could take the top half and kitbash it
onto someone's tank chassis and produce a nice looking model.

I like the HK. Pity it isn't a dropship with a ramp, but it looks good. Going
to have to try to find a couple of these up in Canada, eh! And I think the
rear stabilizers could have been designed a bit differently to be aesthetic,
but I think they are necessary for balance (visual).

Well, with it being 'nose down', I'd actually prefer a rear-facing ramp.

I think in the movie these flying HK's are used to transport humans from point
A to point B. It's hard to tell from the trailers I've seen.
