*sigh*
So I went and booted up my old computer that should have had all my saved
files for SSDs, including all my templates and apparently they aren't there
anymore. So.. I went looking for the base files that I grabbed originally and
lo and behold, most of the web sites don't exist anymore.
I'm currently in need of these files: Sa Vasku ship bits Kra'vak ship bits
Eric Fialkowski ship building java applet
Guess it's back to the drawing board for my templates.. on the other hand
everyone else might win since I'll make them to Avery card formats.

I'll do a complete set of re-drawn ShipBits at some point, if people are
interested. AFAIK we've got no 'bits for the post-FTFB2 weapons that are
in
testing - the UNSC Grasers & such.
I've also tagged a few of the sites I link to with [Dead Link?] where I get
404'd - anyone with updated info on any of my links, please let me know!

I've started working on some SVG graphics if anyone is interested.

What is SVG?

Scalable Vector Graphics - http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/
Basically, everything is drawn as lines and circles rather than
as pixels, so when you resize/rotate or whatever you don't loose
any precision. It's much easier to use for designing SSDs, since each item is
an object which can be moved, overlayed and resized easily.
Firefox, Opera and Konqueror support it natively. I think IE does through
Adobe plugins. Most modern vector graphic programs have support for SVG (e.g.
Inkscape).
There's some examples at:

Wow, exactly the same idea I had - I love your core systems, not
bothered to look through the xml yet to see how you did it. I assume you used
Inkscape? It's great.
Sorry for posting the same idea after it was posted - I only subscribe
to the digest of the list, so my replies sometimes seem after the
event/out of order. Keeps the inbox tidy.

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an image format where the picture is
defined by text, everything is defined as vectors - so it can be scaled
to any size you want.
There are problems with viewing SVG files on the web at the moment - the
latest firefox is fine, I won't say more as its more computer based talk, not
for this list. Wikipedia is your friend.

Any program capable of displaying SVG. Most modern browsers will
display by default (e.g. Firefox/Opera), or editors such as
Inkscape or Sodipodi (at least on Linux, I don't know about other platforms).
For Mac-heads' info, I just opened that .svg file in Camino (1.0.2)
and it worked fine too.

Yeah, worthless to me as well, but I'm a luddite.
Sins of not having the latest thing, I'm well aware. Oh, wait; might have
Photoshop somewhere. I suppose that'd work.
Vince, if it works and I can translate to something for the common folk
tomorrow, I'll let you know.
