As far as the new designs go, I'm seeing six fleets for FT 2.5; all bets off
for FT 3, whenever.
New Israeli Defense Fleet, Out-Rim Coalition (ORC) Fleet, Islamic
Federation Star Navy, Oceanic Union Defense Fleet, Imperial Japanese Star
Fleet, and UNSC Rules and Stats. However, the link on Dean's inestimable Star
Ranger site to the OUDF is broken, at least from the UNCS page
However, I think Chris has a link for the OU at
http://mysite.verizon.net/laserlight/ou/index.htm
and the navy at
http://mysite.verizon.net/laserlight/ou/oudf.htm
Closest thing to official in all cases?

FT3 is required, else the Japanese fleet is cheesy. Dean's site should mirror
mine for Islamic Fed

Well, three of the fleets are on Dean's site, and there are various links both
on his GZG page AND in the fleet lists. I could be confused, but I did find
the IF links working, but no OUDF on the GZG, and a broken link on the UNSC
list for OUDF, which is why I pointed that pair out.

That's the answer I was seeking.

Appreciate that, Vince. I was a little confused by playtest fleets for rules
that aren't generally available yet, but I suppose I should have enough clues
to have worked it out for myself. Never claimed to be the brightest lamp on
the block.
Glad to have your's for the time being, as long as I'm not required to use
the Veritech. ;->=

No problem, I actually had my version out for a long while.. If you note
the
carrier designs, they are very fighter friendly. I changed the Musashi
battledreadnought not to use fighters and actually have the Musashi as a Heavy
Battleship rather then a battledreadnought like the other nations. With the
intro of the wave gun to java use, I remade a few of the ships to equip the
wave gun. Most noteble is the Soyokaze DD actually using a wave gun..
