looking for fighters that are out there, but I can seem to find who makes
them.
They are from Star Wars, those Tie Fighters, Tie Interceptors, X-Wings
and such..
Anyone got any clue where I can get a few dozen?

WOTC and Wizkids have Star Wars sets. And while they're collectible, there's
different places on the web that sell singles.
I picked up enough Wizkids models to set up a game at ECC. At less than
a buck a sheet, you get an X-wing and two TIE fighters. There's other
variants as well. I picked up a few Y-wings and TIE Interceptors to add
some variety.
For about $20 + S&H, you can get a decent amount. (The S&H always kills
me..... It doesn't cost all that much to mail a set of styrene
cards.......)
If you like more substantial minis, you'd have to go for the WOTC ones.
They're a bit more. (I think around $3 a figure for singles)
If you're talking ones to paint up, or ones the size of normal GZG fighter
miniatures, sorry, can't think of any here. I know they exist,
but where......

Vinnie, are you talking about itty-bitties for FT?
I thought both GZG's GF-series and Brigade Models (no, I won't use THOSE
initials) had not-Star Wars fighters....
Hmm... hard to tell without piccies, but maybe not...

Not for an awfully long time, I'm afraid (and couldn't even if we wanted to
any more, the old moulds don't fit the new casting kit).
You could try Studio Bergstrom for fighter models

The Brigade ones haven't been available for several years.
The GZG ones are the new NAC fighters which are not-X-Wings and
not-Y-Wings (plus, the NI are not-BSG Vipers and the GF range contains
several not-Babylon 5 fighter types).

Brigade /used/ to, but they stopped making them when the moulds became
worn, according to Tony F. These days, I'd recommend visiting StarRanger's
site and forum here:
http://www.star-ranger.com/Home.htm
http://www.star-ranger.com/forum/
Look around there; if you have no luck, ask on the forum and if that
type of fighter is being made, someone there will know -- or may even be
making it!
Sizes will vary; half-inch-long fighters, with a single mini
representing a flight or squadron, are quite popular, though I prefer
GZG-size (oft referred to as FA scale elsewhere after the AoG /Babylon 5
Wars///Fleet Action/ miniatures).
Good luck hunting!

Searching Star Ranger's forums at www.star-ranger.com should find at
least one manufacturer. A couple of the new NAC fighters are also vaguely
familiar...
Course, at this size, a few chopped styrene tubes, properly snipped cup lids
pieces, and plastic beads can make some nice substitutes without a
huge amount of work, or talent. Always important to me. ;->=

P.S. And, don't forget, so near and dear to MY heart, the not-SAAB
craft!
