Subject: GZG ECC V: The Quote Board

Greetings everyone,

Herein are the recorded quotes from the Quote Board at ECC V this past
weekend. I heard many more during the course of events, but was often too busy
to get those written down anywhere. Alas. However, you can get a good flavor
of things from these. You might notice a trend here and there, as some people
were quoted far more often than others.

And yes, in some cases the Narn Bat Squad should have made an appearance to
the offending quotee.

Anyway, enjoy the read. Jerry should be getting this up on the GZG-ECC
webpage soon. I'll ry to write up my own quick After Con Report as soon as I
get more time.

BTW, if your favorite quote from a particular game during the weekend does not
appear on the list here, that's because it never made the Quote Board. Next
year you'll have to be more dilligent at getting these things recorded.
;-)

It was 11, but who's counting. When your partner was just gunned down next to
you, fear becomes a great motivator.

Just a word of explanation or three:

"We have semi-mobile toilet plungers AND the never-ending scarf. Victory
is
ours!" - Aaron Newman, Nick Caldwell's FMA Pirates game
This of course refers to the Daleks and Dr.Who. They were part of Dr.
John's Hyper-Galactic Circus.

"Why can't we do this?" - Doug
"Because you're not scared shitless like the one guy all alone surrounded by
the natives." - Aaron Newman, FMA Pirates
Referring to a particularly good combat move -- I believe the character
in question sprinted 12".

"He's programmed to like it!" - Nick Caldwell, FMA Pirates
I had just been asked if the Destroyer Droid was vulnerable to suppression.

"This suddenly turned into an Aaron Newman game. I have no idea what's going
on." - Nick Caldwell, A Family Crisis.
Aaron runs these wonderful Babylon5 Full Thrust games where everyone at the
table has a secret objective. Jon Davis's Kravak Civil War game suddenly broke
out into spontaneous diplomacy as the 3 sides tried to convince each other
that we were all on the same side. It was wonderful to see Aaron

I begun cutting the first cake with a 12" long cake knife.

Not exactly. I was commanding the 2400 point (Blue) fleet, Stuart controlled a
1200 point Red fleet, and Aaron was the warleader for the
1200 point Green fleet. The way for Blue to win was clearly to take
on one enemy at a time, so I offered Stuart and Aaron bribes to go after each
other. Aaron bluntly declined. Stuart agreed...I'm not certain if he intended
to honor the deal or not, but by the time the question came up, the Green
fleet had been destroyed so I could order

Well, yeah. See other references under "Death Star". :-)
