Subject: GZG ECC Scenario Q:s.

On table 4, Sunday morning, there will be a game run called "Battle for
Huntington" which really cought my eye. It's arranged by a man named Mike
Richie, whom I cant recall having seen here on the list. I'm in Sweden, so I
can't participate myself...:(

Is there anyone on the list who knows where I can contact him?

I'd really like to know more on the background to the Tuffleyverse Second US
civil war as well. It seems like it coincides well with our version.:) I own
SG2 and DS2, but none of them really deals with that subject...

(I know that they're not supposed to, but I can't help loving the "official"
background, now can I?):)

I don't think Mike is a subscriber to this list. But there should be a word of
clarification. First off, Mike Richie was going to run the event, but the
scenario was designed by myself and uses my figures, terrain, and vehicle
designs. Now that Mike is unable to attend, I'll be running the scenario.

The Battle of Huntington takes place in Huntington, West Virginia.

:-) Good luck. I've only extrapolated from the same rulebooks
you own. The timeline for the Second American Civil war is written in the DSII
rulebook.

The scenario takes place few years into the struggle and a lot of the mainline
units have been eliminated or severely depleted. Fighting continues with
militia and second line units. In this history, it's the Provisional Military
Government that has seized control (Emergency powers) and has effectively
nullified the U.S. Constitution. The loyalists to the Constitution are in
rebellion against the Provisional government.

Are there any other points you'd be interested in?

Oh? well, things then turned out easier.:)

Yeah, I'd like to see the force compositions for the two forces. Do feel free
to contact me off list if its seen as a bit of a secret.:) Any fluff is
welcome too.:) (Very welcome) i.e units taking part, commanders, previous
histories and such. If you have developed them.:)

The reasons for my interest have been explained. I run a Near future rpg group
too, sortof a very modified twilight:2k set at a later date. My players have
just made their way back to the US and this would be great if I could find a
reason to introduce them to DS2...:) (I'm the only one playing, well,
collecting and
dreaming about then, non-gw games around here.) :)
Putting them in charge of the forces of either side would be a good
incentive...:)

Thanks for your reply!

BTW, feel free to come to ECC. We've had people come from California, Ottawa,
Puerto Rico, and it looks like we'll have one from England this year.

The cost for the trip would be at around $800, (just for the flight) and I'm
in a college equalient, so, I really cant afford it.:((

I'd really love to go though...

Amusingly enough, I was stranded over a weekend once in Huntington when my car
broke down on my way home from Kentucky 10 years ago. I spent a considerable
number of hours wandering around the town that weekend waiting for the repair
shop to finally open and fix.
I wonder how close your terrain will be to what I saw... ;-)

Cool! Jon T's coming?!

Joke, joke -- everyone relax . . .

I did invite J.M. Straczynski and Steve Jackson, but I didn't get a reply from
either one.
