Subject: [GZG] [Brushwars] Overview of Situation [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Location: Planetary Colony G44-776 Date: 25th October 2198 From: Interplanetary Colonial Command To: All contracted defence forces On the morning of the 23rd October, unknown forces arrived in system and immediately engaged space defences. After a short battle, our forces were driven away from orbital support due to weight of numbers. Invasion forces were immediately dropped into the outback uncontested and are now heading for populated areas. Limited satellite recon estimates 8 separate forces of approximately battalion size driving for several targets with 2 battalion sized forces holding in the dropzone. Enemy aerospace assets appear limited at this time and may have remained aboard their carriers for Combat Space Patrol to prevent relief of the invasion. Emergency plan Beta has been activated and all Planetary Guard units have been activated. Guard units are best utilised as defensive units which will free up mercenary units to bolster defences and undertake limited offensive actions. Army units are mobilising for offensive actions, but cannot support everywhere at once. Your primary orders are to defend all spaceport facilities and provide firesupport to Guard units engaging enemy forces in defence of urban areas. Secondary orders are to engage in offensive harrassing engagements and destroy enemy forces where possible. Major offensive actions should be avoided at this time unless opportune. <message ends> Brendan 'Neath Southern Skies http://home.pacific.net.au/~southernsk/ IMPORTANT 1.
