Up until three or so years ago, the bolton list still actually
fuctioned - a few of us used to amuse ourselves every few months with
"echo chamber" posts into the cold lifeless void of the bolton list.
Post-modern electronic archeology - trying old mailing lists to see if
any of them still function.:)

I don't actually remember if it was the Bolton list I joined... when did
we migrate out? I know I joined back around the spring/summer of 1998,
though I'd have to check the archives to be sure.
Speaking of which... how do I do that again, anyone?
It's been a while.

Well according to the archive my first post was
Date: Wed, 3 Jun 1998 10:05:31
So a relative newcomer:)

I've been on and off the list a number of times so when I first joined is a
bit unclear, but I do distinctly remember discussions leading to the first
GZG-ECC. So it's pre-1997.
Ahhh! 10 years of lurking!
Frantic sound of shovels digging in old folders...
I was on the Bolton list and the oldest dated message I can find is July 97.
(It's a reply from Jon regarding what prefixes the NSL would use for ships).
My first post seems to have been in January 1998.
I was present on the Bolton List. Joined some time after Adams Passing.
Bye for now, John L

Pretty sure I joined up when it was still the Bolton list.... back when
I had time to play, no grey hair and children who were pre-schoolers
(now Lachy's in high school and a good 12cm taller than me).
Cheers
Well it could be worse beth, he could be a 40k player.

So he's what, 5 foot? <grin>

I can't remember when I joined. It was a year or two before we lost Adam. So,
I am thinking 1995.

I'm short but maybe not that short;)
At the grand old age of 13 Lachy has hit 5 foot 9 - his size 13 feet are
what are really worrying me at present (that and his first attempt at facial
hair);)
Cheers
There is a god. Well if my 2yr old has to choose between drugs and 40k i hope
he chooses
drugs, cause it would be far cheaper.lol No i'l kill him if he touches both.
Ah nids the other marine white meat of choice.

/That/ can be awkward. If needed, I can give you the address/URL of a
good mail order company that deos shoes in larger sizes.
> (that and his first attempt at facial hair) ;)
Well, no parent has ever liked their sons' first attempts at facial hair,
either when it first comes in or when they decide to actually grow
it, so that's life. Ceremonially present him with an electric razor and a
(safety) blade razor and have your other half teach him how to use
them, and be prepared for the eventual First Beard -- 'coz it'll happen
in a few years time... ;-)
And to be honest, I have to add to the "it makes me feel old" list here;
realising that Mr Fulton the Younger is now in high school makes me wonder
where the years have gone. I can remember the proud posts of his parents about
his first fleet and army. Mind you, I can remember my own similar posts about
my sons....
Phil, another proud parent (in case you haven't guessed by now)
Geeze, how old is he now?

That's what's got me worried. If we're at 13 already and he's still growing

Actually that would be very handy!

Not sure Derek can remember, he hasn't shaved in 16 odd years now;)

Given the number of beards in his extended family, I don't doubt;)

Well he's accumulated quite a few now and finally has the patience to paint
them well. In fact we're dreading the day he decides to move out, we'll have
to go and get our own copies of all the Munchkin games for a start;)
> Mind you, I can remember my own similar posts about my sons....
It showed just a little;)
Take care
Gah. Well, and I doubt he'd be pleased to hear it, but to me he'll
always be five and throwing down on Car Wars: The Card Game. :-)
