Subject: [GZG] Base Removal

Hi all,

I figure someone on here might have an idea.....

Anyone have any good methods of removing the bases from
heroclix/mageknight figures?

Thanks

Mike

Well, I find that removing bases really does require specialized ortillery
assets to... Oh, the figs...

Mostly, I just run a sharp knife (pause for appropriate PSA 'don't cut
yourself') under a foot or two, maybe a twist of the wrist about half way
through, and they pop off nicely. If anything, the MageKnights have trouble
staying on their bases. Now, if you're talking the big
figs/monsters/vehicles, I really haven't tried to many. Some actually
have screws holding them on.

some of the mechwarrior vehicles that I wanted to mess with (for
kitbashing purposes) I found that a little pressure with an x-acto
chisel blade (for a #5 handle, not a #11) popped them right off. Now, taking
apart the actual tanks was another story...

e, I've always just slid a hobby knife (aka Xacto) under the feet and gave a
little twist. The glue has always been quite brittle and the foot would just
pop free. I've done this with Mage Knight and HeroClix.

I've heard of other, more elaborate methods, such as putting the figs in the
freezer, but I never found this necessary.

This is the method I've used in the past, though it can still result in
breakage on the figure and potential finger cuts.
