I'm ready to go whole hog with 15mm SG figures. Only I need suggestions for
which packs to order. So, if you were ordering 32 packs, what would they be?
Help!

Now, Indy, be nice.
Wow! I count 31 in the SG 15mm list on the site; in spite of that being a
massive selection, I actually thought there were more, so that he couldn't
have bought 'All of them' with a limit of 32 packs. Dopey moi!
Mike, we've seen TO&E's on the list, so I'm assuming THAT'S not what you're
asking. I think folks will need info from you. Are you planning on getting one
'uge force, multiple forces for your own use, multiple forces for sharing with
less fortunate folks?
True gropos will have further questions, I'm sure. Especially as we all
know what happens when we assume. ;->=

Putting aside Indy's 'wit' for the moment ;-) , do you mean what would
be the best ones to buy in terms of organisation, sensible opponents
etc, or which are simply the 'nicest' figures aesthetically-speaking ?
If the latter, I'd vote for the New Israelis as the best figures overall,
followed by the FCT. I haven't seen them yet but I've also heard very good
reports of the new Ghurkas. Oh, and the colonial troopers are also nice (I
love the cigar puffing squad leader). All merely IMHO, of course. Finally,
I've just finished painting up some of the Hammers Slammers skimmers (I
actually painted mine to match my Brits) and they just look so cool cruising
along the tabletop on short flight stands.
The colonial militia figs look good and could be used for nearly any European
nationality. Nine packs will give you enough for two platoons, which should be
about right to stand up to one platoon of professionals.
Paint one platoon in khaki and the other in sand brown and you can also pit
them against each other.
Islamic Fed always makes a good villain. 5 packs will give you one
full-strength platoon (not counting IFVs and crews) plus a couple spare
figs. (see http://home.quixnet.net/%7Edeboe/sg/ifrifle.htm for TOE)
Six packs each of two Major Powers, including one each of PA. I'd go with NSL
and ESU.
Finish up with six packs of whatever else you want--the New Israelis
look
very nice, or you could get a couple of 3-pack platoons of powered armor
and paint them as mercenaries.

The Infantry Fighting Vehicle vehicle? Do you work for the Department of
Redundancy Department now, Indy? <ducks&runs>:)

That department is defunct and no longer exists. It has been transitioned and

make a note of it.
I mostly wanted which to buy to field a couple "generic" forces.

Bingo!!
That is what I needed. I have platoons of Martian Metals (Imperial and
Zhodani) time for something different. Also something that will work with
my WW-I(I) and SCW stuff.

Now to get the list together...
