I wonder if a gyrobomb sounds like a turbine? It would make them easier
to detect with sonic directional amplifiers.  Sounds like a great sci-fi
movie weapon - Hero hears the slowly building whining sound and knows
he's in trouble...

I'm assuming the warhead would be mounted in a gimballed frame to allow the
outer casing to be rotated freely.
