> Now I need a book -- anyone recommend an account of May I suggest "Echoes of War: A Child at Arms" by Patrick Davis? This is a first person account of a British officer assigned to a Gurkha battalion in Burma, in WWII. This is not a 'hard-core history' but more of a pleasant, easy read. As a matter of fact I buy all of the "Echoes of War" series on sight and I have yet to be disappointed. Some are "fiction" but all are written by folks that have been there with a true eye toward what it was like. My favorite book of all time is in this series: "Winged Victory" by V.M. Yeates, a very, very haunting story of WWI fighter pilots. I can not recommend this book too much. Cheers,
