Gen-Con / Tuffley Visit

I pulled this from the AOL Strategy Forum message boards. Could it be a chance
to meet the man himself? Does anyone know of any other GZG happenings
at Gen-Con?

I will be there as a judge.  I'm running some FT games for Geo-Hex.
Right now I'm trying to finish my NSL ships and others. I plan on trying some
DSII and SG as well.

I guess I'll see you there! I'm scheduled to play one of the FT games and I'm
probably going to play a SG2 game and MAYBE a DS2 game.

So far three people from my gaming group (here in Virginia, USA) are planning
on going: Rick Rutherford, Seth Connolly, and Myself. Jack Mosquera may come
also. We're all trying to get into the Star Wars Capital Ship Arena
game.  You know, the one with the six-foot long Imperial Star Destroyer
model.

As a resident of the Badger State, I have the scoop on all the local
resturants near the Wisconsin Center (formerly known as
MECCA--they changed the name for political correctness sake :-( ).
Aside from the Major's, there are:

Luke's Sports Spectacular (Sports Bar)

Everardo's (Best Pizza in the State--thin crust and stuffed!)

All the typical fast food places (Micky D's, KFC, Burger King, Hardee's,

etc.)

Cousin's Subs (best subs in the state.)

That is just an off-the-top-of-my-head list of Downtown Milwaukee
resturants. I'm sure the convention center will have some sort of "Milwaukee
Guide that will have a much more comprehensive list.

The only problem I foresee is everyone being able to make it on a particular
day. Thursday would work for me if we made it an early dinner, Friday is right
out, and Saturday is best.

Hmm. Checked my scehdule. Although I don't have tickets, there's a DS2 game
on Saturday from 12-4 and a SG2 game from 4-8. I suppose we could
"crash" one of these games and then wind up at the restaurant later. Any other
ideas?

Judging from most of what I've heard so far, Saturday afternoon sounds OK for
a GENCON meeting.

down as "tentative" for attendign the con. My wife has been scheduled for
surgery next Tuesday (we were originally expecting it at the end of
August/early September). If all goes well, my wife MIGHT be up to
travelling to Gen Con two weeks later. If not, I will probably go on my own or
with a friend. But if the surgery doesn't go well, I won't be attending. I'll
let you guys know after the surgery.
