Given the Prezidential oddness going on in the Excited States, and the
GZGverse's NAC, I've got to share this...

Further note to the Canadians out there: Remeber to help get Stockwell
re-named Doris - go to http://www.22minutes.com and sign the petition!
(This won't make any sense to non-Canadians, but it's too long a
political joke to explain...)

No it isn't!

The Alliance Party wants to allow people to force referenda on anything, as
lon g as they can get 3% of the electorate (about 350,000 people) to sign a
petitio n. To show how silly this is, and how easy it is to get 350,000 names,
the TV s how This Hour Has 22 Minutes is holding a petition to have Stockwell
Day
-- lea
der of the Alliance -- to change his first name to Doris.

When I signed, they had 151,600 signatures. That was yesterday at 2 pm. They
go t over the 370,000 mark this morning.

To put this even marginally on topic, what IS the status of the colony worlds
i n Tuffleyverse? Has anyone worked out the government systems of the colonies
an d the home worlds? Are they all some form of
democracy/republic/constitutional
monarchy? Or are there any really weird governments out there.

I think this could make for some interesting scenarios, and could even fuel a
f ew civil wars. Maybe I should start painting my FSE fleet different
colours...

Given that you've been on the list while we've discussed the Alarishi Empire,
I assume you mean "are there any really weird governments in the NAC
/ FSE / ESU / NSL " ?

Well, as I didn't think the AE had quite made Official Tuffleyverse status,
I assumed that was implied. ;->=

That's cool, they weren't accomplishing anything anyway except drawing pay

You could always paint your FSE ships in PAU colors.
See http://www.ftsr.org/ft/ft25/gov.html#pau.
These PAU designs use FSE ship hulls for DD and above.

Now, just what are the PAU ship colors? The Unofficial GZG Encyclopedia entry
for PAU states that the "PAU Flag is GREEN over BLACK over RED with 5 stars
(YELLOW) in a diamond in the center CAS Flag is BLUE over Red, In the center
is a WHITE silhouette of Africa with a BLACK silhouette of America imposed
over Africa"

Here is a good resource for current maps of Africa:
http://fotw.vexillum.com/flags/geo-afr2.html
This is a wonderful site. It not only provides the flags of countries, but
some history and often symbolism in the flag.

I was thinking of Black with Yellow/Gold trim. Green shows up quite a
bit, but I believe that after a split with the IF, it may fall out of favor
(green is stated as representing Mohamad/Islam in some north african
state
flags). Green/Red is another option (but may look like the Christmas
fleet
to some of us *s*). Red/Black, Black/Blue, Red/Blue, and Red/Yellow are
some other options. Of couse, they may choose some other color scheme not
based on thier flag.

We of Palm Beach County Florida are ready. We are prepared to send thousands
of Condo Commandos (most of them WWII veterans) to disrupt the house of
Commons. We have arranged to send you several cruise ships full of Cubans to
seek political asylum. We are also sending you a few thousand extra lawyers.

They do tend to litigate and drive on both sides of the road. Also be warned
that they can not follow instructions and tend to be a bit hard oh
hearing. Do not be decived by any promises they make.
