I'm curious what everyones worst mistake has been.
Here's mine:
At last years Warfair in Atlanta we played a large game. 3 players on a side,
several thousand points per player. Vector.
I pulled out my FSE SDN,
http://www.jumpspace.net/Wargames/FT/ItaliaSDN.html and a reasonable
escort. I quickly was nominated my sides theatre commander. It consisted of
FSE, ESU, and Phalons(?!). The plan was for me to accelerate,
timing it so my battle-group was astern of our opponents. This would
leave
them trapped between two groups, FSE behind and ESU/Phalons in front.
I misjudged my speed. The FSE Admiral mooned his opponents as the entire
FSE battle-group ended up 2 MU in front of our opponents with the rear
arc of every FSE ship facing them. The FSE contribution consisted of killing
some fighters that were needlessly thrown away.

G'day,

Mine came up one of the few times I've played cinematic.... flew my entire
fleet into a planet... blast I meant the other port!;)
My worst screwup came the one and only time I played cinematic FB, and flew
most of my Phalon squadron into their own plasma bolts... That 6" burst radius
vs the 3" vector radius bites!
Of course, when we played FT regularly I was known for plowing ships into
asteroids far too often. I won FT Racing games, though!

A recent test game had one player firing a plasma-bolt-like weapon and

The best moment was when each player independently decided not to try to knock
it down with PDS because it would embarrass the other side so
much... :-)
