FT: Ship groups

Hi fellow gamers

Just some thing I have been thinking about recently that ties in with the
Playing styles thread.

Do people arrange their fleets into groups / squadrons? i.e. when
selecting forces for a game do you pick a carrier and then select the other
craft or do you have a carrier group that you have pre worked out?

If the answer is the group, how do you organise it? Is a battleship always
escorted by an escort cruiser and four destroyers? etc

Personally I have been selecting individual ships to meet the points target
but I am now leaning towards setting up groups and squadrons and having
attachments to round out the force.

My units tend to follow at least a 1:2:2 ratio, and even go to 1:2:3 on
occasion. When using FB designs, I find that escorts and cruisers can really
be useful for exploiting openings and killing of the wounded.
