Subject: [FT] Sa'Vasku power generators and threshold rolls

Are Sa'Vasku power generators subject to being destroyed by threshold rolls
just like other systems in addition to the power generators destroyed for
being on the line of biomass boxes destroyed?

If power generators can be destroyed by threshold rolls, can damage control
repair these power generators?

Can damage control repair the power generators lost because they are on a row
of biomass boxes that were destroyed?

Thanks.

FB2 p.22, "Power Generators", 2nd paragraf, first sentence.

FB2 p.24, "Damage Control", 4th paragraf, 2nd sentence.

Note that the FB2 Sa'Vasku rules are seriously unbalanced. The SV designs in
FB2 itself aren't that bad, but they are rather weak compared to the
monsters you could create under the SV ship design rules :-(

So, I assume from the sentence that Power Generators are not destroyed by
threshold checks. They only get destroyed when the accumulated damage reaches
the end of a row of biomass boxes. If I'm interpreting this correctly, this
means that if a Power Generator is on the end of a line of biomass boxes which
are all checked off because they are consumed but not destroyed (the ones you
check off from the bottom rows of boxes), the Power Generator is now
indestructible.

For example, looking at the Fo'Vur'Ath on the top of page 28... If three
biomass boxes are consumed shooting
the pod launcher, then the 3-factor power generator at the bottom
can never be destroyed unless the entire ship is destroyed.

Am I interpreting that correctly?

No,

I don't think that it makes a difference why the biomass is crossed out, it is
treated the same as to which boxes are crossed out and the effect that has on
the ship.

Cheers, Tony.

If this and the previous post sounds like a "RTFR!" replies, well... that's
because it is.

Yes.

Re: Tony: Biomass consumed by pod launchers, drone wombs or repairs are not
"damage".

Not true, when the damage track meets the biomass fed track the ship is
destroyed thus destroying the power generator.

Well, of course. Not that it is very important whether or not the Power
Generator survives this or not however, since once the ship has been
completely destroyed there is nothing for the Power Generator to supply power
*to*.

I assumed (and we all know what ass-u-me means, no? <g>) that Gregory
was talking about the situation prior the ship's complete destruction.
