I thought some of you might be interested in a new PBEM utility I've been
working on. I've used the Cyberboard application to develop a Full Thrust game
box. This allows Full Thrust games to be played without a GM, with a full
graphical interface, and encapsulated die roller. In short your FT game table
transported to the computer for PBEM play. You can see a screen shot of a game
in progress at:

What is Cyberboard, and how does it work? Cyberboard is an excellent piece of
freeware originally developed for the board gaming community. It allows you
the freedom to design any sort of game that is played on a board and uses some
sort of pieces. During game play each players turn is recorded step by step,
and then shared with his opponent, text messages and die rolls (from d2 to
d100) may be inserted at any time.

I have played the following with Cyberboard, all very successfully and with
much enjoyment, Steve Jackson's OGER, Avalon Hill's Starship Troopers, Spanish
Fury-Siege, and DBR. Quite a few games have been
developed for use with Cyberboard, numbering in the hundreds, perhaps the best
resource is the PBEM Emporium or the Yankee Air Pirates site. Cyberboard is
available at

Aron,

Looks like a nice program, did you contact Jon Tuffley about using his rule
system in the program? This is the only thing that has slowed down my
development of an online version of FT.

Anyone know what the implications are with using published rule systems within
software? I know it's not like players can see exactly what the rules are, but
do you need special permission?

It would always be polite to ask. My attempt to design a web-based
version (which has stalled in developement for lack of time) would have
included a
password-like protection scheme that acted something like the copy
protection of early computer games. If you could correctly supply the i'th
word of the j'th
